Much cursing ensued this event and I have decided it is best to just leave it as it is instead of ripping them to shrea...

Re: Didingtonn By Lmsrail!

Earlier in the week I took delivery of 3 wagons from matt1471. I set straight to work adding loads to the wagons and trying some new weathering techniques on them that I actually really like the results of. I still need to find a way of getting the weathering on the under frames to stand out more bu...

Re: Didingtonn By Lmsrail!

Thanks for all the kind comments!
Just after a few opinions on this; should I continue with the sky backscene all the way around the layout or should I vary it with some different ones such as industrial buildings, villages etc?

Re: Didingtonn By Lmsrail!

First update of 2011 I believe. I have added some trees and part of the backscene (all be it not very well). I glued it on and it has puffed out slightly in some places, I think I will use double sided sticky tape to do the rest. Anyway here are some pictures. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa13...

Something like that should do the job fine.

This layout is coming along very nicely. The hills look a lot better with the hedging in place and the basket liner looks pretty effective on the hillside.

Thanks for the kind words Chris :)

Re: Metcalfe models

Metcalfe was the first ever kit building I made, I found it simple and intend to buy and make some more in the future.
I highly recommend them.

Re: track and ballast

I found cork sheets the easiest things to use. Something like this would be fine: http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=16456

Re: track and ballast

It's also a good idea to put a layer of cork between the baseboard and the track.
