Re: Rimenough MPD

Decided to try and get a few more locos finished now 2most" of the depot work is done. So here is I.K.B. ready for a railtour, or perhaps just off one? I did have a 247 Pathfinders headboard lined up and i have to say its a super headboard, but its mainly green and i thaught it clashed a bit mu...

Re: OO layout size

Your curves with a 3 ft wide layout in 00 would be so tight alot of locos and stock may not be able to go around them. You could perhaps extend the width at the ends of the layout to make the loops bigger (3 ft in the middle / straights is fine and leave plenty of room for scenery, sidings etc), but...

Re: OO layout size

yes, i would say you will need at least 4ft width just for a single track and 5 for double if you want a loop / continous running in 00. No probs with n guage!

Re: Rimenough MPD

Right, this was the site of the old fuel storage tank (drain pipe!) http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w55/piemanlarger/Rimenough/oldtankgone.jpg And this is the result of building a knightwing kit to which i have added an old knightwing tank i had here. Added some lighting too as refueling in the d...

Re: Rimenough MPD

Thanks for the kind words. The bachscene was done by a chap in my model club, Dave Woolnough, hence half the name of the layout. He is a very good artist. The backdrop is a mix of painting and buildings cut from mags etc.

Re: Rimenough MPD

Well, spent the last week doing some small jobs on the layout. Been adding buffer stop lights, depot signs, lights for the inside of the sheds and replaced the short track lengths that bridged the boards with copperclad + soldered rails. Just got to re-ballast the area around these rails now and car...

Re: Rimenough MPD

.
I know but without both plans I wouldn't have known it was different :D Very similar looking layout and in a similar style, that was kind of my point, still looks great though.
Thats the funny thing. Now to me, its very different. The loco fuel road is gone (now down the side of the ...

Re: Rimenough MPD

Dont take it personally (difficult I know :D ) but without a track plan I would be hard pushed to tell the difference between the new layout and the old one  I suppose people have a certain "style" that they stick to without realising. When I used to work in the warehouse people al...

Re: Your DCC System.

I did have the Lenz 100 system but traded it in as it is not as good as the Dynamis for controlling sound locos. About the only thing i wish the dynamis had was the function to switch between the last two locos in us as with lenz 100 handset. Otherwise, the dynamis does it all. No problem with signa...

Re: Rimenough MPD

On the whole I think the layout was well recieved, had enquiries for another couple of shows so we will see what happens. Operation was good, only the driver was at fault on the whole though a couple of the locos need looking at and one point may need some work? The Hornby class 60 was very impressi...
