Re: Graham Farish Class 37 DCC with Sound

Hi

Nice effort and well done Douglas. Anyone who can get sound into a n gauge loco is doing well. I think just about all the hobby shops knock it back simply because its to difficult. Did you have much trouble isolating the motor terminals?

Well done on that effort.

Cheers

Re: Are the Hornby Select and Elite seen as "toy" controllers?

Hi Hornby build wonderful highly detailed locos coaches and I consider their gear top notch. Take a look at some of the locos that have come out in the last couple of years, just outstanding. So now that they are pushing 100 GBP some 200 GBP it is worth spending the money on a good DCC controller wh...

Re: Customer service?

Hi ever worked in retail? or a call centre, sadly you have to be able to deal with all sorts, I think really the fact they won't sell to you if you give them bad ebay feedback is all you need to know in this instance. Their seems to be a quick shift to blame people and not shoddy retailers and manuf...

Re: Coach Lighting

Hi If your on a budget I would use them. I tried them and I was not happy, I found them too limited eg spacing and the lighting colour wrong. Anyway I use DCC Concepts flicker free kits. For me far more flexible, I can get the correct lighting and spacing between compartments right plus they last fo...

Re: Kato Eurostar coach lighting

Hi Yes it is and its one of my future project a full lit rake with duel sound decoders in each power car. Kato build very good coaches that easily take lighting. The good part about the Euro star you can run wiring between coaches using plugs. I used a product called Flicker Free from DCC Concepts. ...

Re: Customer service?

Hmmmmmm If this is true shame on the retailer. That is very poor form on their behalf. it's the old thing you have good service you tell 1 person, you have bad service you tell 10 So true From another point of view and I am only basing this on some of silentwakes posts. You have some bad luck for su...

Re: What LEDs do you use?

Hi I use SMD's in n gauge and OO. I just find SMD's so handy they can go anywhere. I buy from mine from 2 places 1 type from DCC Concepts which are pre wired with 0.1mm enamel wire called "nano lights". Very handy if you need to run the wire in plain sight or you have virtually no space. I...

Re: Dapol Brit

Hi Your last comment about the Chinese girl opens up a whole new can of worms. I hope not as I would like to see it stay on model trains. I think that is for another forum. Big deal some poor girl in China is getting paid $1.20 per hour and it may have being at the end of her 12 hour shift. This was...

Re: Dapol Brit

Hi Nice to know that not every one thinks I am unreasonable for expecting quality. Very fair comment considering the money you paid for the Brit. I have 2 and both excellent runners. Outstanding detail very fine running gear and beautiful to watch pulling a rake. I did have 2 issues but nothing wort...

Re: What wire to electrically connect two carriages?

Hi

I have added extra pick ups in the past to n and 00 and the best wire I have found is supplied by ESU. It is a multi core and very flexible. Use the black.

Here is the link.

Re: Bachmann br 9f dcc smoke and lights

Hi

Nice one and good effort. The 9f's always look good with lights and smoke. It it DC or DCC? The Seuthe no 27 is 3mm shorter than the 22 so if it is tight that one is another option.

Heres a 9f like yours on youtube.

Re: SWAPPING OVER 2 FUNCTION DECODER TO LOK 'N' MICRO

Hi Cannot help with your DMU/EMU as I have never seen one or worked on one. It's not a simple swap job to get any kind of sound chip into an N gauge loco. Electrically it is but the Loksound Micro is quite large for an N gauge model and finding a speaker small enough is a real challenge, there aren'...
