Re: Hattons Dispatch times

I think perhaps we might just be expecting a little too much from retailers when it comes to dispatch/delivery times, although I do agree if someone has paid for "guaranteed next day" delivery then that is what should happen. Same day dispatch does not guarantee next day delivery, as has b...

Re: Bachmann Dynamis Pro

No it isn't that bit.. its the IR extension module which the bit you refer to, plugs into. I has the 8 pin socket but also has 4 x 8 pin plug (male) sockets as part of it. The IR receiver/transmitter (which is the bit you refer to) is working fine

Bachmann Dynamis Pro

Apologies if I'm dragging up an old topic but I can't find anything on here which might answer my question. I have recently bought a secondhand Dynamis pro box which was working fine until today when the handset & base unit wirelessly parted company and would not talk to each other under any cir...

Re: Future of Hornby Mk3 coaches

I have two full IC125 sets one in Blue grey (original) livery, the other in the IC "Swallow" livery both of which are the all wheel drive units and I must say I am happy with the level of detail on Hornby's Mk3 coaches that go with these, after all what is there to add to a monocoque bodys...

I reckon that's what you were thinking of, it was my first thought when I read this thread.

That's the one... could I find the thread? Nope! Thanks for finding it

Re: Custom DMU/EMU

I seem to remember seeing a home made DMU/EMU made out of Hornby Mk2 Coaches with the Airfix/Dapol raibus kit front driving cabs welded to the front on a forum. I don't know if it was this one or RMweb forum but if I find it I'll post a link. It looked quite a fun project and the result was quite pl...

Re: Hornby R numbers

They've been doing it for years. The colour light signal based on the old Dublo version in the '60s was RT405, then when it was re launched as a hideously over scale "thing" in the 1980s it retained the number R405. R405 was also used as the Mk4 first open coach when that was introduced in...

Re: Bachmann Voyager Very Slow

Before you go out and buy a new motor, I suggest trying what I did with mine which worked a treat and the thing shot off at great speed afterwards. The motor brushes and springs (yes they are there and they are accessible) are held in by two brass discs which are also attached to the motor wires. Th...

Re: Hornby class 423 VEP R2946 BR blue

Having had two VEP's since they were first released I thought I would share a few things of note to keep an eye out for and which may or may not happen to your newly purchased units. Not, of course wishing to be a Jonah but there are a couple of problems which are highly likely to happen if you use ...

Re: Heljan commissioned to do O for Hattons.

The other aspect of course is the old chestnut of pricing. We all enjoyed a brief period in the early "naughties" of cheap, well detailed stuff in OO and now the prices are approaching something a little more like phone numbers for the same stuff, it has slowed the market down an awful lot...
