Re: Whats your favourite livery for a loco??
Has to be either GER Royal Blue or BR Black for steam overall, Crimson Lake on a Duchess looks good, Caley Blue is nice and a revised version was tried by BR, Garter Blue looks ok on a baltic W1 "super A4" or A4's but I doubt if it would suit a Duchess or an A3!. BR Brunswich Green for Die...

Ask them to get some in
Hi I'm Jackie I'm taking over TheTriangman's affairs whilst he is on holiday after surgery, I'm his other half. Paul(TheTri-angman) say's "Ask them to buy some stuff in or ask them to order what you need". I would agree with what he has said, a shop will stock it if you ask. They need the ...

Remember Gamleys
Remember Gamleys Metadyneman? They had a brilliant model railway section. I agree there's nothing wrong with Hattons at all. All I'm saying and I'm not getting at anyone, we all have to watch those pennies today, is that the small model shop is dying because they can't compete and if we don't suppor...

Small model shops are going the way of the corner shop.
Small model shops are going the way of the corner shop. The average life of a new start-up is 2-3 years today. Because the small shopkeeper cannot afford to stock the quantities needed to get the big discounts the box shifters get and cannot compete with the no-overheads internet traders, they loose...

More people not supporting their loco model shops
More people not supporting their local model shops and going to the big box shifters such as Hattons, Engine Shed and Rails. No wonder the little model shop is now an endangered species. Guys if you don't support your local model shop you will loose it. It's happening all over the place now. Soon we...

The industrial action set is good
The industrial action set is good. Shouldn't the workers be Chinese though as Hornby is made in China! Gotta be realistic as all you guys have been saying over the months. The set needs a few rickshaws, armed commie guards too to keep the pickets in order.
Wonder if Hornby will make the set?

BRING BACK TRI-ANG
BRING BACK TRI-ANG!
At least the loco's had strong motors and could pull, the quality was there and it was British craftsmen and craftswomen made, not slapped together in a Chinese sweatshop for pennies.
