Hi Guys Anyone know where the big new ModelZone superstore is going to be in Peterborough? They are advertising in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph for staff at the moment so I wonder where they will be sited as the advert doesn't say. I ask as I fancy going along to see if there are any opening b...

Re: Your favourite Model, Any gauge.
A change of scale indeed. G Scale/Gauge 1 A garden monster....this beauty has smoke, DCC sound, and lights including cab lighting. The loco has two pipes from the smoke unit to the cylinders so you even get whisps of smoke/steam from the cylinders. It runs lovely and weighs a ton, the boiler is meta...

Re: Hornby Running Characteristics?
Yes indeed the Big H is lacking a good range of 0-4-0's and 0-6-0's. The old Tri-ang-Hornby pannier would have made a nice updated model, but the mould has a face stuck on the front and is used as Duck in the Thomas range. A re-introduction of the old Nellie moulding and the old 0-6-0 Saddle tank in...

Hornby are still making them, most local dealers will have them. East Kent Models and Abbigails should have them in stock.

Re: dig up that furness!
I was corrected by her indoors about the Fowler 4P 2-6-4-T loco at South Mimms, it is acutally buried near the side of the M1 at Scratchwood services which were once Scratchwood sidings. Steve McQueen stared in the film, the Fowler 2-6-4T was just buried and left to rot after the filming owing to re...

Re: Coach Interiors
Haven't got a scanner alas K9-70, seldom need it. I will dig through the piles of papers to see if I still have the sheet for you, will send you a PM if I find it. I think the part numbers were R.522 and R.523 respectively.

Re: PRICING POLICY
Unfortunately someone rubbished our shop when we looked at opening at the NVR before we even opened which didn't help. We did open trains4u but margins outside of the big cities if you aren't spending a lot of capital are limited, we could never match the big boys on price, some of the others here h...

Re: PRICING POLICY
But you live in a major City with massive footfall and have zero competition for miles around Trains 4U, you also started with a very decent amount of cash as well, am I not correct? For the smaller shop dealer out in the small towns it's a far different story. I used to deal direct with Hornby but ...
