Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

That's awesome! What a neat idea for a display layout.

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Lets me get away with anything really  This has come up before, including examples of real railway museums that have model railway track plans. http://evmrr.org/images/ColoMus.jpg http://www.nsrm-friends.org/images/2014_05_26_aerialphoto1_650px.jpg Chris Wow that's something you don't see ever...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Going along with the theme of doing what I want to do... I've been having some fun cross referencing my house number to any regions engine numbers, interestingly I've been rewarded with two that I particularly like. BR/GWR 5069 Castle Class 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel' BR/LMS 45069/5069 Black 5 May hav...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Yes that is true, but I'm not particularly going for GW themed stuff (though I do have a soft spot for it). Preserved lines tend to just have an amalgamation of random pieces. The MK1s with the train pack are BR choc/creams, plus the one maroon, and the four BR(S) Maunsells I've got. I should be abl...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

I certainly like to think they'll look good! I really hope the "design clever" on the Hall doesn't cause me to dislike it. I'm a big fan of Hornby's GWR liveried engines. But having owned a newer Bachmann Hall in the past set my standards high. Also didn't realize that I'd ordered 3 16t wa...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Feeling rather pleased with myself today. I finalized my order from Hattons and used up all of my credit. http://i.imgur.com/1v67YED.png I always forget they subtract the VAT since I don't live there. I think I made out pretty well. Curious as to why I got wagons instead of more coaches? Answer: I n...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

So long as it would clearly show what direction the track was going I'd be okay with that! Was thinking 2-3 smaller webcam type cameras though. Run to my PC so I can view them at the same time, it would also allow me to operate the traverser without going behind if I didn't need to. I should really ...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

It is actually not too bad. It basically dissasembled itself so it would need glueing back together. This is made as a two road shed. Wasn't aware they can be made as a single road, but a four road looks easy. Hmmm... I may just make it two entrance tracks but double length, those sidings seem capa...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

I have one of those, though it has the odd door missing. I tried to sell it at a train fair and someone knocked it off the table so it is in parts. Fortunately easy to rebuild. Ideally as the odd door etc is missing it would be good to extend another shed. How broken is it? Is it true that th...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Like that? I think that looks a lot less crowded. I admit I saw those two long siding as for goods stock not an engine depot, thinking that a station this size would be lucky to rate its own small shunter. (But heritage lines can get away with odd things) Anyway, its not for me to approve or not, o...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

http://i.imgur.com/3U31CL0.jpg Like that? Eliminated the nasty 'S' curve and the extra siding now faces the backdrop instead of coming out of it. Also news from Hattons, they've finally processed my returns and are ready for me to use the credit... Time to place an order for rolling stock!

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Hi, always interesting to see the working out of a track plan, thanks for the updates :) I can only speak personally from my use of Peco track, If you are using another track then my comments may not be of use. One thing I notice is your use of the Y points in a few locations, most specifically in ...

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

http://i.imgur.com/R4rtagP.jpg Added a random siding to the shed area, and added a siding on the "main line" the traverser is absent since I can only have 50 pieces displayed without buying the program! But I edited the approach, I feel I may be able to fit just a little more in this way.

Re: Planning: OO Gauge Heritage Line

Oh my Chris, those are both very busy! Like Mountain said, I wouldn't wanna go overkill on point work, not only does that exponentially increase the cost of track, but also point motors! hahaha. I do like the first plan, but I'm very much of the idea of having a divider in the middle, simply so that...
