Re: Blue Pullman retooled

Likewise the Bachmann crane. Hattons estimate was around the £75 mark so I preordered one. Had an email today confirming the rrp is £240....yikes. One cancelled order coming up.

Re: Has anyone used these

Just a thought...the Dapol track cleaner comes equipped with a vacuum cleaner and it can be converted to DCC. I have one of these and use it in front of a loco to pickup up debris, dust and dead spiders. Sad to say it is useless at cleaning track but makes a great hoover. I resprayed it black and ap...

Re: Has anyone used these

Why not just vacuum your layout once in a while?

Re: Class 31 lights and sound.

Is this the railroad class 31 or the original faulty version?

Re: Suitcase connectors

I use these connectors on my layout, about 100 in total and have found them to be very reliable over the years. With regards to the cobalts, I have 40 of these and took the precaution of tinning all of the wire ends. The picture below is my new layout with the same connectors etc https://s26.postimg...

Re: Track cleaning cars

I also had the Dapol cleaning car which as a track cleaner is a waste of space. However it came with a piece of equipment that when fitted turns it into a mini hoover, which it does very well. I resprayed it black, weathered it and applied some br logos... https://s26.postimg.org/m6kk2jc4p/P1030784....

Re: Track cleaning cars

CMX cleaning wagon is superb but it is like hens teeth. The best method is a chamois leather and IPA by hand.

For that price it can stay in its tinsel covered stocking.

Track cleaning

Has anyone used Brasso polish to clean rails, and if so what long term effects did you have?

Re: Let's Tango! O2 to be produced

I caught a very brief glimpse of a black panther on Cannock Chase

I saw one here in Burston some 15 years ago in the field opposite my house and last year my wife saw one in the road on her way home. We live in the countryside with lots of deer so feeding would not be a problem for them.

Ironically my wife agrees with you. I looked at a wider barge model which is available from Langley Models but at over 100 pounds it could not be justified.

Re: Leicester Fosse (Central) Sishades new epic

Wow it has been 7 months since I last posted. Some work has been done on this layout but now that it nearer to completion my desire to work on it has dwindled. I still need to populate it with some little folk and do some minor stuff to it. One thing that did need doing was to fix the bridges that s...

That may be too tight but as the sleepers may buckle. But give it a go and see.
