Is that not the C-Class they are doing in grey?

Re: Opinions, Hornby Thompson B1

The B1 is a lovely model, I have the LNER black version. The only thing I will say against it is that it is a little underpowered. Whereas my B17 can handle a 10 coach train without a problem at the club test track, the B1 will only be comfortable on a 8 coach train. Although it is a problem easily ...

Re: Dawlish Disaster!

Although you would think that they could make more effort with the sea defences. I remember at Scarborough they spent years dumping huge boulders around Marine Drive to protect it - you would have thought they could do something similar? There doesn't appear to be any defences before you hit the rai...

Re: DCC Concepts Powerbase

Although surely getting strips of cheaper magnetic material and a few magnets would do exactly the same thing yet cost a lot less money?

Re: Bachmann SECR C Class - new livery

I wonder if these will be a case of pre-ordering for £70 then selling on ebay a month later for a £200 profit as well?

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

The hairspray method worked a treat, and gave my wagons a pleasant strawberry aroma! I did use real coal dust, so I have to be hopeful that the plastic doesn't react. I'll be running them down the club tonight. GCR 8K with a GCR brake van ought to look a treat! I will take my camera with me as well....

Or if you were after new ones, Powsides do transfers you could use on a Parkside kit. You could possibly use the Dapol unpainted wagons as well.

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

It has been a fair while since I last posted on this thread. Little projects have been my main focus recently (as well as the club and its layout Tedburn). I added white rims to all my LNER coaching stock which took a fair while, I've been adding detailing packs to various locos and adding coal to w...

Re: Class 5 L&YR 2-4-2T

Lovely looking models, run very well indeed. We had one up the club last night and it was marvellous. I did fancy the NRM model but they sold out quicker than I was expecting.

Re: Hornby 2014 speculation thread

It is about time there was some up to date GWR coaching stock. Another few batches of their Castle in GWR livery would be nice as well. I wonder if an original MN is around the corner...
