Re: B17 Sandringhams and Footballers

I made a video a few months ago of the class leader.

It is a fabulous model. Hornby did an excellent job on it.

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

The two corner pieces are now up. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u47/PeterHHodge/Photo0013.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u47/PeterHHodge/Photo0012.jpg There are a few holes which need a bit of filler and paint due to failed attempts, but generally not too much damage.

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

Here is a basic track plan of the layout. The station at the top hasn't been finalised and the style and configuration will most likely change.

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

I think you might as well make use of these things if you've got access to them! Here are a few photos of the baseboards. The two curves you see will be permanently attached to the wall with brackets. The far baseboard will be a GCR station and goods yards, the other set of boards will be another st...

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

Nearly all of the baseboards have frames. Just the goods yard board for the GCR station left to do now, it is an oddly shaped board so it'll be interesting to make a frame for it! I will be walking to my brothers tomorrow to borrow his laser level - got to use the most fancy tool possible! I'll then...

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

A start has been made to the layout - at long last! Out of the 9 boards I need to complete the circle around my room, 7 have been made. Due to the nature of the boards only 5 of them will need frames, 2 of which I have completed today. 2 of the 8 boards will be permanently attached to the wall with ...

It does seem a but hit and miss whether or not you get a 'good un'. Some have been fine, others not. Interesting video of it here on a 1 in 30 gradient with 65 wagons...

Try contacting Radley Models. They should do them, if not they can tell you who does.

Re: How to add sand.

I observed a sand-pipe on a Cl.321 electric yesterday, so I presume the answer is 'yes' - although you'd have to ask someone wiser than I for more information!

I would have liked to gone but I am helping with the Watford Finescale both days. I hope it goes well for you - has always been an excellent exhibition the few times I've been.

Re: Opinions, Hornby Thompson B1

Just a bit of general roofing lead we had lying about. Cut it to size and attach to strategic locations. There is a company who do little balls of lead which you glue into place, can't for the life of me remember who they are - they are useful for tight spots.
