At last, we have the technology. Whilst updated the Firmware I thought "Will my router ever work again?" lol

Maybe I'll be able to send files using MSN now...

Downloaded and saved the models, building up a collection slowly. :) Thanks. Anyone got any more links to similar things. I fancy a church on my layout eventually. Keep us updated as to the layout, I was tempted to put a reverse loop on mine as an easy way to turn trains round but I just know that I...

OK, made that alteration to the design and put a few labels on. This post is mainly a test to see if I can get a picture on here. I just upgraded the firmware on my router and now it allows uploading of files to my webspace using FTP. http://www.zanziba.prodigynet.co.uk/Pictures/trainset3.jpg Can an...

Saved them, I'll get them printed as soon as I get a layout sorted lol. Your plans look pretty amazing, my only concern is the loop system. If I make say the left hand rail live and the right the return, if you follow round the loop system, right round the track and down they can end up reversed, wh...

My wife would kill me if I took a saw to the ceiling! It already has a loft ladder fitted and I think I remember from the viewing that the oft lid looked slightly longer than a normal one, maybe 3 foot but I'll check on Friday when I move in... Can't wait.

I have taken a look at the plans and turned the exchange round that is in the bottom right, that doesn't effect the "circuit" and allows movement both ways regardless of track direction. Seeing as I am lucky enough to have two locos (Assuming they both still work) I can then run one in eac...

Yes the exchanges are the same way as I see the trains mainly going clockwise. However I could add an extra exchange going the other way. The reason for that set up is that I could make a continuous train go (clockwise) up the mines, round and down onto the outer line, down to the bottom, past the b...

Complete starter, follow my progress

OK, I move house on Friday next week and the attic is floored and lit so I have decided to build a train set. I had a OO gauge layout as a kid and fancy trying to build something that as an adult child I will enjoy. I've spent the week buying bits on eBay (Just won 45 sets of points for £30!) and s...

Off the cuff. (Everything I say should be considered that as I am an expert at nothing LOL) You could walk around the house tapping on your walls and find out which one doesn't sound hollow, that'll be a retaining solid brick wall and you could position the heaviest (People?) part of your layout abo...

Your joists are coping with about 10 tonne of slates, a model railway is the least of it's worries.

The incline will only be used by a shunter and small wagons as it leads to a mine system that has tight bends etc...

1 in 30 could pose a problem, I'll have to limit the height I raise by I guess.

How do I put a JPG on here for you to look at?

Talking of inclines, what sort of incline can a shunter pulling say 8 wagons safely get up?

I am a complete newbie but have decided to use the loft in my new house to build a OO gauge system.

I don't know how to attach a picture of my plans...
