Re: my first layout.no name yet

Searching for "Lima oil storage" brings up two adverts, one is yours the other is someone selling one of them 99p. Seems it is working fine.

Re: Complete starter, follow my progress

I may have time tomorrow morning to take some pictures and I'll try and get the hosted.

I bought a E-Z Bachmann DCC controller off eBay today so anyone who can advise me about chipping my trains would be great. I may sell some of my old ones and buy DCC ready versions? I don't know really.

Re: My Layout

Hi Zanziba,I had the same problem,It seemed that i'd spaced them too far apart and so after some adjustments I didn't have any more problems. If I space them closer the gradient would be unrealistic I fear (It already is probably 10x what would be seen even on the Snowdon line 1.3 meters or ...

Re: Amarjot's no name layout

There seems a lot of zig zagging to get from the inner line (point motor 2) to the bottom line and the turntable. Did you consider having the pair of point (labelled 4) facing the other way and maybe even incorporating a crossover?

They can take an hour to appear in searches.

Click "My Ebay" then "Selling"

They looked good on your layout!?!

Re: My Layout

How'd you find the rail between the risers? Mine dips when a loco goes between them which is a slight problem. I am thinking of putting extra supports in and glueing wooden strips under the track to give it strength.

I run steam but have a class 37 in BR green and I must say it is one of my (if not my actual) favourites.

Re: Complete starter, follow my progress

Sold my Mallard on eBay and invested the money into buying a brand new A4 (Hornby) together with three Blood and Custards in a box set (1 of 3000 apparently) for £110 which I consider a bargain given that the shop has two A4's in and one is £95 and the other is £87. Runs really nicely. :) I have ...
