Very nice work - the details are excellent and make it very realistic. Now I know what I need to buy! Keep up the good work. Andrew Andrew If you do buy. Can I repeat what I mentioned earlier. IMHO you need to put curtains on the ground floor as well. I think the kit comes with enough material. If ...

Excellent! I love the variety of trees' what it really needs is a backscene. Dave This is always the dilemma Do you post pictures when its nearly there or when you have done everything. That last 10% can take weeks, possibly months to complete. Take the backscene. My choice of backscene will be dep...

Hi Michael I added the gutters and drain pipes. The gutters are Plastruct Channel, the drainpipes are steel wire rods from a magazine binder. They were all sprayed grey. Now the photos were taken I have noticed that I need to block the end of the gutters and paint them grey Another job to add to the...

Thanks for the compliment Danny I think just putting curtains on the ground floor windows is an improvement. Even if you check out the illustrated example on the Metcalfe site http://metcalfemodels.com/acatalog/Low_Relief_Terraced_House_Fronts_Stone_00.html they don't put curtains in the lower windo...

The layout - a start

I have at long last have some visible progress on my layout over the summer. I have over the last few months been landscaping the area to the rear of the throat of my main junction station. It is to consist of a church, church road , an rough open space/park and a market square. I have more or less ...

I haven't got a Thomas coach but I do have a couple of crappy Hornby GWR 4 wheel coaches.

You have given me inspiration what I could do with them.

Thanks :D :D

Will do.

I am work at present but check back after 19:30 this evening and I will have posted a few. I took well over a 100, about half of the museum exhibits and half of the layouts.

I assume you are interested in the layouts?

Just back myself. Got to say sightly disapointed with it. Over half the stands were shops. My little boy enjoyed it though - as long as it had thomas going around. :) I understand your comment about trade stands. But these exhibitions take a bit of financing and trade stands are a way of paying par...

Good layouts though. Didn't think 'I could do better than that' once. Which made me a bit depressed. Don't get me wrong all the layouts were great and I loved looking at them and I took loads of reference photos of possible ideas. BUT I do like to see a not quite so perfect layout and come away fee...

Is there still a Hall in the food court bit of the outlet centre? If so, thats the place to go eat! There's quite a variety of different food places IIRC, nice chocolate shop too! And you can eat while sat by a steam engine, how good is that? Just got back. Can confirm that the food court is still ...

Chris Going by the number of exhibitors The reputation of a couple of the layouts That the layouts I understand are normally placed in and around the actual Museum exhibits. That the adult entry is only 60p more than normal entry I think its worth traveling 5 hours and 220 miles each way by train to...
