That's impressive, really need those so very long shots to appreciate it properly

I'm not entirely convinced with the Jinty... I'm not sure if limescale would build up at the top of the dome or not, I can only think it'd be around the watering holes and whistle. Been looking at some photos of heavily weathered locos - close ups - and the Jinty is fine, you're actually confusing ...

Got the piccies now, and a very nice job on that Jinty. Have to say that Airfix Royal Scot also looks quite splendid.

Hmm Something wrong with the pictures at my end, but I saw a couple on the work PC before it decided it didn't want to download anymore... Anyway... That there bauxite colour. I've heard a few people complain about it and no it doesn't look right, because that's exactly what it looked like straight ...

Nice busy (and convincing looking) layout - and nice too to see some decent steam. Far too much diesel on this forum.

Really nice layout and photos. The only picky little criticism I'd make is that there's altogether too much orange hi-vis clothing (and hard hats) being worn for the blue diesel period. Things were a lot more casual in those days.

Definite improvement, its starting to get there. You could do with packing some scrunched up newspaper or something underneath to support that new slope.

When I was in the army graphite was used to "lubricate" rifles in extreme cold because oil tended to go sticky. Worked pretty well as I recall.

I did say it was a comment rather than a criticism. I think what's been done looks great. There's a lot of good work gone in there and I was just passing some observations of the real track which I work on which I hope will be helpful as it develops further.

A comment, not a criticism... I was looking at some track today both inside and outside the sheds, trying to get a feel for colouring. Track when laid as new is always a bright rust colour all over, but the very top gets polished bright very quickly by the passage of trains. Once its been rained on ...

Looks pretty good to me. The only thing that's lacking is the rust staining and oil staining on the sleepers, but I assume that's waiting until you ballast it.

Garage sounds good to me if you have enough space, there's an article in the current BRM pointing out that according to the building regs as interpreted by at least one council a loft with a railway layout is classed as an "apartment" and needs proper stairs and what have you. Me, I'm keep...
