Re: Lima loco

Just thought I would add to my last post. I remember I did follow the advice of adding some diods to reduce the voltage as the motors I had were rated about 4 volts but I did get other motors later which were rated at 12v so there are other rated motors available if you look around. Very cheap from ...

Re: Lima loco

I did some of those conversions a while back. I got my motors on ebay from china. This was before people got the idea of selling kits at upgrade prices. They were very cheap think my first 2 I bought to try were only about £3 free post for the pair. I found a vid on utube which showed how to do the j...

Re: Sleeper grime spray paint

I would say .. No. Tracks normally look rusty dirty browny colour. But it depends where the tracks are. If they are in and around a yard or steam engine shed or workshops you may not see the sleepers at all for the build up of dirty grime old ash and coal ect. I would go for the rusty dirty brown lo...

Re: Fast clock for running to a timetable

Whats wrong with running a time table from a normal clock. Example, instead using hours call every 10 minutes an hour so a train every 2 minutes would give you 5 trains every 10 minutes calling that an hour. And time to make a cup of tea. :) unless you want to run to a real time table then you can h...

Re: Weathering Removal.

My take on removing weathering on something you did not do yourself is you dont know as what they used you only have somebodies word on what they have used to weather the model. There is always the chance that you may damage the original finnish and spoil the model. I would leave well along and run ...

Re: Backscene lesson

I dont think this is unusual it is like wall paper and paint. You have to get the same batch number of wall paper or they are not the same colour. Bit like hornby trains. For example every batch of flying Scotsman have diferent shade of apple green. If you damage the tender it is often impossible to...
