DIESEL CLASS 20 HEADLIGHT CODES

I am at the point of installing head lighting in my two Hornby Class 20 TTS Diesel locos. I intend to run the pair permanently in "consist", at the front of some twenty plus coal (loaded) waggons, on the main line of my layout (Clackwick). I would be very grateful for advice concerning the...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

I may well give that a try Rob, but at the rate I seem to be accumulating Hornby Class 20 TTS chips I would end up with more than I could find a home for.

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

Thanks Rob, but the fact is that both of the two Class 20 TTS locos that I recently purchased will run only when pointing in one direction. Since the postage to UK from Germany is likely to be in excess of twenty quid (which I would be reluctant to pay), I thought I would email first and see what th...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

New Hornby Class 20 arrived in the post this morning. Changed the address to my preference, but IT ONLY RUNS WHEN FACING ONE DIRECTION! I've looked through a number of threads on this apparently known problem, but have not found a solution. Can anyone put me right on this please.

Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Our neighbour in the NIssen huts "Old Man Belcher" (OMB) spent much of his time overseeing the moral wellbeing of his twin daughters. One summer's afternoon found his two girls at a nearby gunsight playing "you show me yours ...... etc" with the son of a neighbour. Belcher's daug...

Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Charlie Wheeler's corner has come in for some additional detailing in the last few days - the scene was previously far too tidy, and not at all in keeping with reality. Charlie was a well known local, who was to be seen on his three wheeler touting for sales of firewood that he prepared at his site ...

Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Thank you Chops. D Bird's corner shop is actually based on the one shop that served our little group of Nissen huts on Boleyn Way, Jaywick in the early '50s. The wishing well was situated on a small roundabout immediately in front of the shop. At that time the area was pretty much as depicted on my ...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

Thanks Tim, but I would like to keep my layout "authentic" to the area as much as I can. Perhaps when I eventually get a pair of Class 20 locos to run in consist, I may have to resort to something with more beef to run the track cleaner - a CMX by the way. I have a CMX track cleaner and I...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

I feel inclined to ask whether anyone reading this thread has successfully operated two Hornby Class 20 TTS locos in consist. It would be reassuring to know that what I have in mind has some hope of operating.
