Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Loco 46464 was a regular at Clacton in the mid fifties. Always caught my imagination.

Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Before including pictures of some of the diaoramas included my layout I should explain that several of them relate to the experiences of young lad growing up on the edge of the Jaywick marshes in the mid '50s. Whilst they all carry a strong element of truth, further explanation would not be appropri...

Re: Clackwick Circa 1955

Thank you for your encouragement guys. Rather than go into a full description of what I've been doing since 2005, at this stage I will simply say that my layout covers an area of approx 17 ft x 10 ft (reducing to 7 ft 6). It reflects various aspects of Clacton-on-Sea terminal, Colchester mainline st...

Clackwick Circa 1955

Notwithstanding that my layout has been under construction since 2005, I have introduced it here on the basis that it is still under construction - and is likely to be so for several years to come. Clackwick (00 gauge) is loosely based on Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester stations and the adjacent Jaywi...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

Thank you for enlightening me chaps. Bearing in mind the advice from RAFHAAA96 (what year was that entry?), I think I will go for driving the Hornby Class 20 with a second Lenz decoder, and leave the installed TTS decoder to supply the installed speaker for sound only as suggested by Bigmet. I'm str...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

Thank you kindly for your input Bigmet. You are quite right regarding the TTS CVs; 2, 5 and 6 are not referred to in the TTS Sound Decoder Manual, and read attempts show "Error" for all three. Your proposal concerning the decoder arrangement sounds interesting. Are you suggesting that the ...

Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

For several years I ran a Lima Class 20 (00 gauge) Diesel fitted with a Lenz Silver DCC decoder, and was very satisfied with the operation as part of my mid`50s layout. More recently, I added a Hornby Class 20 fitted with TTS, having changed the body for a second Lima Class 20 body in the same liver...
