Re: Blown TTS Decoder - what did I do wrong?

I too lost a decoder because I wrapped it in tape, ran well for about 15 mins then stopped and I got error message. Now I if I have to protect the chip I cover what it might touch instead of the chip.

Re: Identify decoder

Well very pleased to say that upgrading to a ESU 8 pin Lok sound decoder has tamed the 66 runs so much better on the default settings, also as this is an early model with no 'openings' in the roof grill and no speaker body shape in the chassis (so I had to cut down the speaker box otherwise it was t...

Re: Bachmann Class 66 motor

Well that was fun and yes had to do it twice as I was wrong as to which wire went where, but in the end very happy to report that I have all my 66s back on shed :) So no problems with running after removing these bad boys. Thanks for the advice peeps Peter https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4912/4427816...

Re: Bachmann Class 66 motor

Thanks Bigmet
I know which way round the wires go thanks, as one is longer to go under the motor, in this case there red and black. Honest I barely moved the pcb board to get to the drive shaft and the buggers came off :(

Bachmann Class 66 motor

Hi people, any help please. As you can see by the pictures, I have a motor were 'both' the wires have come off. Can not see any sign of where they were attached to and it seems that if its only used for DCC theres no need for the interference suppressor capacitors so that would make it simple to sol...

Re: New layout

Not concerned about points over joints as I have nowhere else were I could have a layout. Was hoping to have it in what is no...

Re: New layout

Well that was fun, a few hours spent sorting the bases of the sheds and also another 'Wills' kit I built, fits well alongside the 'Peco' shed and very pleased to say locos run along those filled in tracks with no problems. Now I have a question, what colour base should I use on the main areas before...
