Re: Nelevation issues

I manually adjusted that end so that Level 5 was correctly aligned. By the time I had driven a Level 1 to Level 10 that end had dropped by a colossal 2cm! The result is that one half of my Nelevator is completely unusable. That is astonishing, having looked at the tiny pictures on there website and...

Re: Nelevation issues

Having designed and built my own many years ago I can say alignment in N gauge is particularly important as the room for error is very small indeed, maintaining that alignment with temperature, humidity and ageing is also a challenge. In my case I resorted to servo self-leveling at EVERY shelf, both...

Re: 4'x2' fully scenic 'N' gauge layout

Anyone able to advise on the running quality of Code 80 Peco insulated frog points ? I have bought one and fancy in preference to live frog as I want to use the points to isolate a siding. What I don't want to have to do is add in a couple of switched isolated sections. Geoff T. In my early experie...

Re: Farish A2, tender wheels

Not much help except some experience, I have been modelling in N for at least 30 years steam outline with 10 & 12 coach trains and I have to admit initially coming from an OO background I was shocked at the low adhesion of steam outline N gauge. Consiquentially in the planning stage I go for gra...

Hello, I think wherever you post it you need to say a little more than just lighting, like what voltage are the lamps, what current or a link to the source website please :)

Re: Riccarton Junction in N gauge

Thank you all for your kind comments though I must apologize for the poor depth of view (distant focus) apparently this is caused by a large aperture in turn caused by insufficient lighting. I am purely a point and poke man with a Panasonic DMC-TZ1 that has been all over the world with me. Me-thinks...

Re: Garage Wall Freelance Running Layout Ho Scale

Hi :) I see you have increased the bearers from 3x1 to 4x1 but the same type of wood ? Maybe your problem was not so much the size as the quality, we have many ratings of softwood here in the uk. The cheapest stuff is warped and twisted before you even buy it and full of knots. The more expensive &q...

Re: Forum Update 30th November

I have to say I regret the passing of the latests post list, now we have to drill down into each subject to find them, the Notifications only work if someone quotes you, not if they simply reply to a thread your interested in (have commented upon) never mind everybody has there own preferences :) an...

Re: Whats all this stuff about frog juicers anyhow

I absolutely agree with Bigmet on this, especially his sage advice contained in the first paragraph. Thankyou for your comments, the whole article was written in jest (note the title) and calling people fools is not my cup of tea but I do occasionally get annoyed at having the pseudo science that e...
