Re: Rotating axleboxes
Cheers gents. I suppose there's no hope now of finding out who came up with the daft term "rotating axleboxes" and giving him a stern talking-to ...

Rotating axleboxes
I have little if any interest in model diesel locototives, and I know even less about full-size ones, but after stumbling upon a YouTube thing about Hatton's wobbly Class 66, I'm intrigued by these 'ere rotating axleboxes. What is the point of rotating axleboxes? What actually rotates? And why might...

Re: Bachmann, no new OO announcements for 2020
Useful review of the imminently expected 94xx here, with pictures of the mechanism and information on the use of a coreless motor: https://albionyard.net/2020/11/27/bachmann-94xx-pannier-review-35-025 ... Ta for that. An interesting read of which I would have remained unaware. Good to see that they...

Re: N Class running badly - why?
By way of an update, the new motor cradle and gear arrived lunchtime today and I've just spent an enjoyable (and very interesting) hour installing it. My lovely brand new 17-year-old N Class is now behaving itself very nicely indeed trundling round the tracks on its running-in turn. Having cleared t...

Re: N Class running badly - why?
No sooner said than done. All being well (which I have every confidence that it will be), one new motor cradle with gear will shortly be on its way to me from Barwell, and this for just six quid! I'm well impressed

Re: N Class running badly - why?
Cheers Bigmet. I made it about 3:1 too, so I reckon the finger points ... What odds on Bachmann still having any spares for a 13-year-old chassis? I might even phone 'em tomorrow and try my luck. Quite how user-replaceable that pair of gears might be is of course another matter, but I've always favo...

N Class running badly - why?
I've got myself a new and unused Bachmann 32-163 N Class which has apparently been sitting quietly in somebody's collection for the last 17 years, and it has me puzzled. Upon trying it out, I found that it was happy enough (considering) running backwards, but it ran forwards like it has at least one...

Help please with video of dodgy runner
I've just taken a video of my newly-acquired Bachmann N Class running badly, and I'd like to upload it to somewhere so that you good people can take a look at it and tell me the likely cause of its malaise. But alas, this sort of thing is way out of my comfort zone. I've taken it on my Android phone...

B & H Models limited edition Bachmann wagons
Being originally from the county, I'd love to know what Lincolnshire private owner wagons have been commissioned by B & H Models of Lincoln. I've emailed them to ask if they can tell me where I might find a list, but I haven't been favoured with a reply, so - does anybody know of a likely altern...

N Class front coupling question
I have an N Class (32-163) from which I would like to remove the front couping, but it's not immediately obvious to me how that might be done. What's the secret?
