Re: OO Shed Layout

I've started an 'under construction' thread here viewtopic.php?f=22&t=50500 so I can keep this one for talking about layouts :)

Re: OO Gauge Shed Layout

Spent an hour or so yesterday evening making a start on laying the track. It's not fixed down permenently at this stage due to the fact I may wish to change things as I go along. I started with the lifting section over the door which involved laying the track then using a dremel and cutting disk to ...

Shedford - OO Gauge Shed Layout

I've got a Track Layout thread going here http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=50161 but thought as I'm actually starting to 'nail' things down I'll do an Under Construction thread to keep the other just for planning :) A while back my old model rail stuff from when I...

Re: Real Time Tracking

The link above doesn't seem to work but if you go to raildar.co.uk then click on maps it seems to work fine.

Re: OO Shed Layout

Yes, I went for a flap in the end rather than a lift out section as I figured the hinges will keep one edge in line better. The 'free' end will be secured with sliding bolts. I've got a short section of straight set-track to fix over the join and then slice through with a Dremel as I thought that wo...

I've got one of those ginger 'assistants'! Also likes to assist with model aircraft builds too!

Re: OO Shed Layout

Whilst I still think about what the layout is going to look like I bit the bullet and bought a load of Peco flexible track for the straights and some 3rd and 4th radius Hornby curves from a very helpful shop in Ipswich. I should have enough to be able to do something like this to start with so at le...

Re: OO Shed Layout

Just for fun I plonked some track down and ran my HST around for a bit :)

Re: OO Shed Layout

I might give it a go this weekend with some old track and see what I can get to work best :)

Re: OO Shed Layout

Right, a slight update on things. I have now (almost) finished the boards around the outside of the shed. I say almost as the section across the door has been bugging me for a bit. Due to the width and location of the door and the necessary cut-out piece on the adjoining baseboard there was going to...

Re: OO Shed Layout

Firstly a big thank you for that plan and huge apologies for not getting back sooner but life has got in the way a bit! I never thought about having the station on a bend but I kind of like the idea however maybe the majority of the platforms being straight but with curved ends? I'm having a rethink...

I'd need to know if that 12 x 9 was the *interior* measurement, and how wide the baseboards are.

That would be amazing, thank you! I'll get in there at lunchtime to get the exact measurements.

Re: OO Shed Layout

Apologies for taking so long to reply, I've been trying to get the answers straight in my head! Do you have a favoured period or region? I don't necessarily have a favoured period or region to be honest. My old layout was a mix of everything as I assume most children's layouts were. I've got a like ...
