Hi all,
Seeing as last year the series performed well enough to be renewed and extended I am interested to find to how its getting on this year thus far relative to how it was doing last year.
How do TV ratings get published etc?
Ned.

Re: Getting Off Lightly
Wellllllll, As a youngster, not sure what age exactly but it was probably before primary school age, I wombled under a 6X4 Marklin layout that my father had bought and proceeded to cut most of the wires with a nailclippers! As I'm still here - I suggest I got off lightly! That said, when I w...

Re: The Great Model Railway Challenge
We all enjoyed it again this week. One of the minor criticisms of the first week in our house was that there didn't seem to be much "Railway" involved, to which I suggested that depending on the theme and teams, that content would ebb and flow. Sure enough this week much more railway was a...

Some cardboard mock-ups, starting the powerbase and small jobs
Not much to report over the last two weeks, still tipping away at the list After getting the inclines in, I laid cork down on the trackbed. The cork I have is some self adhesive floor tiles, which was all that was in stock nearby when I started laying track. As I was in the horrors of the glue on th...

The Lartique Monorail - Listowel, Co Kerry.
One of the few preserved (recreated, if I'm honest) railways near me - The Lartique Monorail ran from Listowel to Ballybunion in Co. Kerry and had what can easily be described as a fairly unique approach to both rolling stock and permanent way. The drawbridge road crossings in particular reminded me...

Castle/Folly suggestions
Thanks for your suggestions.
the Domestic Authorities reviewed them and picked the Scalescenes one.
I've also bought the Box File layout from them to also practice with - that should be entertaining.....

Ned's Shed
The authorities have deemed that a Castle is required for the layout.... the fact that the track hasn't been laid yet doesn't come into it apparently. Anyhowdy, a spot of browsing for a castle/folly showed up the Scalescenes castle - https://scalescenes.com/product/t020-castlefolly/ - which I think ...

Wiring, Inclines and a job that should have been done ages ago
Slow and steady fettling is the order of the day. Over a couple of evenings, when I had 20 minutes to spare, I got out the soldering iron and worked my way though the remaining main loop lines in the tunnels. not much to see for my work from here; https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48570616702_2751...

Re: 00/H0 15'x11' Simple orbital shelf layout
Hi there, I've not had much experience but I do have quite a few 2nd radius curves on my in build layout - during testing it was invariably at points or at bad joints in the track ( big gaps, slightly twisted) etc. where any derailments occurred. Once identified and sorted nothing had an issue with ...

2 steps forward......
Its definitively a case of slow but steady now, after getting the use of the playroom back by virtue of finally cutting all the joint connections I have been able to work away on the multitude of jobs that need to be done. however there seems to be an element of swans here as I have been working awa...

Well done Lamby. It's all looking very good.
I've just had a most enjoyable time catching up with your progress. I love how that overall roof is looking and the greenery on the platform.
