Re: Hattons Pre-owned - whats your experience?
I`ve had no nasty experiences with Hattons pre owned.I have bought three Wrenn Spamcans & two Wrenn Royal scots + a damaged Dublo EMU driving car with a faulty armature which i knew about as i messaged them. The only cause i had to complain about was a very expensive Spamcan sliding about in its ...

Re: The Ballachulish Railway Line
I don`t think so,it`s written by an engineer who was involved in the construction of the line.Very interesting read from his life story.Pity the line came to a sad end.

Re: Trouble at 't mill
Sorry about that,it`s just that i`ve rarely met anybody who`s been to Namibia. Mention Namibia & i get blank looks. Drive North from Joburg, turn left after Harare and there you are - allowing for the traversing of 'miles and miles of b l oody africa' - as first seen by me in a game lodge on a ...

Re: Trouble at 't mill
Could Bachmanns' (temporary) reduction in production capacity be behind it.? { Yes it is me, sitting in a coffee shop in Okahanjia, save you looking it up it's in the middle of Namibia where the railway tracks ( rails 3'6'' apart) split to go north and west. Been here four days not spotted a train ...

Re: "Previously Owned" via certain big on-line shop
I now model Hornby Dublo 3 rail,i find Hattons most courteous & will answer questions.I emailed them about a pre owned Dublo EMU driving car which was advertised at £75 as a non runner,on enquiring about this item, they told me that someone had removed & damaged the armature. So for the £75 &a...

Re: Wrenn locomotive issue
Yes,i agree with Bigmet.I run a largish Hornby Dublo 3 rail layout and also a some Wrenn locos on there. The mechanisms are basically identical to Dublo locos & in the early days of doing my own repairs & conversions,i tried a couple of neo magnets with mixed results.I eventually bought a Ron...

Re: Wrenn locomotive issue
Sorry about being a bit late to this topic. The problem you have is that the motor needs remagnitising. This has to be done with the armature & magnet in place.By taking the magnet out,you destroy the magnetic field as the armature & magnet are magnitised as a unit. You could try a super neo ma...

Re: Re Hornby Dublo 3 rail track
It was one of the easier conversions using a normal Hornby Dublo p/up assembly.I don`t know if you can see the two Wrenn spamcans in the station at the rear of the layout,i fitted them with Marklin skates because of clearance problems.
