Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
Hi guys. Well at last some progress on PETERSDALE. Yesterday I managed to spray paint 4 cats. LOL. Now they just need a little speck of white here and there and the Church will have it's cat and so will some of the residents of PETERSDALE. Yesterday I also succumbed to temptation once again. My bett...

Re: GWR / LNER layout need help with backscene!
Hi Rusty. The progress you're making is looking good. As far as a printable free backscene is concerned you're more likely to find the Holy Grail I think. A simple coat (or 2) of a sky blue emulsion usually does the trick. A little bit of advice. Before you paint the hardboard I'd just lightly sand ...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
R-R don't knock the invented scenario too much. If it's done well it probably requires more understanding of the scene than modelling the real thing. You know when a model has achieved this state, you get people saying "I remember that place from when I was young" even though nothing exis...

Re: Divisioned HO 12ft x 6ft
Hi crmalcolm and welcome to the forum. The planning stage of your layout is really the most important. I had a few mishaps (nothing too disastrous) when planning PETERSDALE. You'll get really good advice from the guys on this forum. I always put easy access to all parts of the layout as the number o...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
Thanks for the comments about PETERSDALE guys (Bufferstop, Dad-1 and crmalcolm) they are very much appreciated as usual. I've been a member of this forum for about a year now and have really enjoyed sharing the ups and downs and posting about the progress on PETERSDALE. I've also really enjoyed foll...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
Hi guys. Well I've managed to go to a couple of shows in the last 2 weeks. Bit like waiting for a bus. You wait ages then 2 come along at the same time. Weekend before last went to the Great Electric Train Show at the Motor Museum near Leamington Spa. It was a first time for me. Thought it was a goo...

Looking good Fratton.
Looking very good indeed.
High class storage you've got there for your rolling stock. Looks well organised.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
Hi, just chipping in to add my appreciation of Petersdale, a great little layout. I like the Director's/inspection saloon. I just had to have one too. I thought the front coupler had to come off, but once it had the empty NEM pocket looked just as clunky, so it was with great trepidation that I too...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
Hi guys. Here's a bit of an update regards progress on Petersdale. Well nothing is developing as far as the layout is concerned. My 4 legged friend is taking up most of my time with 'walkies ' and making sure he's not eating anything he shouldn't. Recently I added yet another candle to my birthday c...

Excellent as usual Jim. The industrial north I remember as a kid in the fifties.
Try a few B & W pictures to make them even more realistic LOL.

Re: Castell Mawr - A joint GWR/LMS route
Infrastructure production. This is about half the signals needed, then loads of ground signals. Much painting beckons, and masking these little blighters is going to be a right pain. They will work, but only on a manual basis from either the signal arm, or counterbalance weight. I can see that in u...

It's too hot for my brain to work today. It's September for god's sake, where's the wind and the rain? LOL.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout
I'm not normally a great fan of the BLT ( not the sandwich, they're awesome! ) its been done to death. But there is something charming about Petersdale. The new locos are very nice to :) I love the compound. Any chance of a video one day? Please :D Thanks for that CHIEF much appreciated. Photograph...

Re: Coppenhall Goods (Late Crest) 00
Nice example of the 'alternative' layout. I think modellers tend to overlook the operating potential of a goods yard layout. Looking good so far. The low relief Industrial buildings give a good 3D backscene. I will be following your progress with interest. You have the makings of an excellent layout...
