Re: Coppenhall Goods (Late Crest) 00

Nice example of the 'alternative' layout. I think modellers tend to overlook the operating potential of a goods yard layout. Looking good so far. The low relief Industrial buildings give a good 3D backscene. I will be following your progress with interest. You have the makings of an excellent layout...

Thanks End2End. Yes I'm really pleased I went with the church now. Looks like it's been there for well over 100 years LOL.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Hi guys. Hope you’re all enjoying your modelling projects. Well it’s been a couple of months since I posted anything regarding progress on ‘Petersdale’. The simple explanation for that is that there hasn’t been any, and the reason for that is the arrival in the Robinson household of a Border Terrier...

As usual Jim, top notch as we'd say in Derbyshire.

Howes of Oxford

Anybody had dealings with the above model shop recently? Been on their website trying to find a replacement buffer for my Heljan Class 17 (Howes are/were(?) main dealers for Heljan spares). There's little or no stock at all on there with only half a dozen pre-owned items and a few Heljan spares list...

Re: Website update

Wish they would separate the pre-owned stuff into a category of their own. It's annoying having to wade through that lot of "over priced" items. Other than that I think it's okay. I've traded with them for years.

Jim the police car scenario is brilliant.
Just the kind of cameo that makes a layout special.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

The turntable looks superb Jim. As usual the weathering etc is done to your high standards and looks so realistic. Wish I'd had space on PETERSDALE for a turntable. Will have to go down the newsagents and have a look at the Hornby magazine to see Millsend in all it's glossy glory. In my opinion Mill...

Re: Castell Mawr - A joint GWR/LMS route

Looking good.
Will definitely be at the MKMRS show to see it as I only live near Wellingborough so it's one of my local shows.
Keep up the good work and progress.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

The Vicar's going to be happy (wherever he is) the graveyard at St. Peter's is now complete. Well a couple of benches are still needed for the front of the church. The former great and the good of Petersdale can now truly RIP. IMG_1140.JPG IMG_1164.JPG IMG_1174.JPG Glad I went with the Church now. I...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Continues to look excellent Jim. It really captures the atmosphere of a 50s/60s industrial town/ city in the Midlands/North West. Of course it's got my favourite Maroon and Cream livery as well. All my favourite steam locos of my youth are there including those dreaded green deisels. It brings back ...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

What a fantastic layout and built so quickly too! I love the canal scene. Thanks for the comments Gerald much appreciated. Yes I'm rather proud of the canal. I think it's the best part of the layout personally. I've still got a few things to add such as an angler and a few more people on the towpat...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Who needs to run trains ....... When constructing something like this it's all about scenery and infrastructure. Many super little cameo sections and weathering stock helps to take away the toy train look making the whole thing look believable. Running trains is just a fancy topping !! Geoff T. Tot...
