Re: ROBINSON ROAD GOODS DEPOT - Layout No.2
Not much progress at the depot over the past few weeks. I have put the cork underlay down for the trackbed. I must really 'pre-order' my points and track now I know what I need. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for a delivery in 2020 but with being in locked down again I'm not hopeful. I di...

Re: Insulating a shed?
I used a very sharp carving knife to cut the polystrene. I also kept sharpening it between cuts with a steel. I used a stainless steel straight egde as well to get a good straight cut. I had quite a bit of polystyrene off cuts. When I was teaching we had a guy from a local company bring us offcuts o...

Re: Insulating a shed?
Hi Derrick how's things? You've been in my layout shed a couple of times I think when you've called to pick up some wagons and coaches you've bought from me. If you look at the early posts in my PETERSDALE thread you'll see a few pictures of the construction of the shed. I was lucky having to constr...

Peco
Does anybody actually know if Peco are currently supplying the likes of Rails and Hattons?
Seems weeks since Peco restarted limited production but nothing seems to be appearing for sale on websites.

Re: Remaining exhibitions for 2020
Warners group finally announced the Peterborough show in December is cancelled.
The way things are going it's going to be quite a while till exhibitions start again in 2021.
Wondering if when they finally restart if they will have restricted numbers?

Re: ROBINSON ROAD GOODS DEPOT - Layout No.2
Still undecided on the track plan.
The sidings look really short on the current plan compared with the original.
Guess I'm going to have quite a bit of time to decide if I can't get the turnouts.

Re: ROBINSON ROAD GOODS DEPOT - Layout No.2
Some minor but significant progress made on ROBINSON ROAD in the last couple of weeks. We have a backscene. I found some left over backscene from PETERSDALE which must be well over 10 years old. Plywood seems to be quite easily obtainable locally at the moment so more 6mm was purchased. The height o...

Re: ROBINSON ROAD GOODS DEPOT - Layout No.2
And finally it's here. The Final Final track plan for Robinson Road Goods. There is one 'will I won't I' still there. That being the turnout in the middle which could form a headshunt for the yard shunter to be stabled in between duties. We'll see. Having reversed the sidings the area now at the top...

Re: Peco Track still in Short Supply
I'm at the stage where I've more or less finalised my track plan for my Goods Depot layout ROBINSON ROAD. I thought I'd have a look what was on offer. After over half an hour on the web I gave up. I need 8 or 9 small radius left and right electrofrog turnouts in total. In all the big stores (Hatton...

Re: ROBINSON ROAD GOODS DEPOT - Layout No.2
Thanks Ex-Pat for the information about the Birmingham Moor Street traverser. A very simple way to solve the problem but way beyond my skills. You did in fact in a round about way solve the problem for me. I went to the Disused-Stations link you gave me to look at the pictures of the traverser but f...
