Yet another rookie question, sorry !!

Sorry about this gents. Is the track that comes with the bachmann graham farish sets the same type as peco setrack code 80?

I am trying to work out what track is compatible with the track that comes in the farish sets.

Many thanks

James

Re: 'N' gauge rookie.

Really sorry to hijack this thread, but can someone please advise which is the latest/current peco track plan book for N gauge? (a pic would be useful, or URL so I can buy it !) I know nothing about N gauge, but I would like to price up a nice layout using peco N track. Is peco track supplied with b...

Re: my head hurts...

As one door closes, another opens ! I just stumbled across this thead from another forum ( is it ok to cross post? ) which gives me a few ideas about an alternative layout for a 6ft x 2ft board :) http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/62154-ideas-for-a-6x2-layout/ I am going to have some...

2015 forthcoming hornby A4 class 'Mallard' any good?

Guys, I think I am right in saying that there is a new A4 in the 2015 lineup? Is this loco the same as all the existing railroad A4 locos? And if there are differences, which A4 would you recommend for me as I am on a budget !! ps I have no problem with railroad stuff, I am not a detailed loco snob ...

Re: my head hurts...

I cant see how a 00 railway can be any smaller than 6ft x 4ft if you use 3rd radius curves.

Re: my head hurts...

To be honest Parkend, I am now wishing I had taken a bit more time and thought about N gauge before getting so far down the 00 path. I do have a large spare room for a rail layout, but the room also has a desks and wardrobes in there, and a sofabed and some bookshelves etc... so the actual logistics...

Re: my head hurts...

Hi Dad-1, just to clarify, I have 2 x 6ft x 2ft 12mm plyboards, which due to space issues will not be a permanent layout, thus I have to find a way to build two baseboards that when connected together make a 6ft x 4ft base. I am not going to be doing all the electric points and fake grass and buildi...

Re: Anyrail software help please !

No worries Parkend, I wasnt trying to be dismissive. :) It is more fun I think to just layout the track on the baseboard and start building in the real world ! However, I have come up with a decent goods yard type design with a long station straight for my express loco and a couple of coaches. Every...

Re: my head hurts...

Anyone have any ideas The big question is "How good are your woodworking skills?" There are far better construction methods than 2" x 1" with 12mm ply, but without the skills and tools you are snookered Gee thanks ! Well, all I want to make is a simple base with timbers to preve...

my head hurts...

Anyone have any ideas or plans for how to make two 6ft x 2ft plywood (12mm) baseboards that can be easily separated for storage? I was basically thinking of making 2 x baseboards with softwood 2 x 1 battens for the framework, but I need some sort of quick release so that the boards can be made to jo...

Re: Anyrail software help please !

Many thanks for the advice, however my free version of anyrail does not have the options you showed in your example ( is your software version the most current?) Anyway, after playing around on it I did manage to find out how to scale a layout to my 6 x4ft size. I am still stuffed however as I have ...

Just a quickie, how can I get a measurement grid onto a track layout on anyrai?

for example, I want to overlay my anyrail layout onto a 6ft x 4ft grid board.

Apologies if this has been asked a few times before ! :D
