This weeks progress:

Basically I've been bashing another Metcalfe kit to make a tunnel portal wide enough for 3 lines. Also been working on the river running through the vaiduct. To the front will be a wier and I'm planning on using the Woodland Scenic stuff. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r86/mark_brody/May%2007/We...

It certainly does, I haven't fitted one yet and they really buzz loudly when they switch, not like your clickety clicks...

Looking at it again I particularly like the bricked-up arch on the left. Nice bit of detail that. That brick should have been used on the inside of the arches. But because I had extended the depth of each arch. It was too small so I used it there instead. Thanks for all the comments. Total cost ~£...

I’ve got a bit sick of waiting for the house to sell and being in limbo with the train set. I decided against taking the whole thing apart and removing it from the loft now, just in case we don’t sell. So I’m going to crack on with the train set and then basically remove any track from areas I...

Looking good - reminds me a bit of my firework detonator control panel. I haven't got to this stage yet on the old railway (far from it), but going on past experience of mundane soldering of firework dets. It is best to take your time, cos mistakes are easily made at this stage but bloody hard to fi...

DISASTER!!!

Oh No....! It has been decided that we are moving house! :!: :!: :!: Agents have already been round to value it, thanks to my ultra efficient other half. This spells chaos and possibly the end for the loft layout. While I designed each board to fit through the hatch, non of the track is ball...

hi mark glad to know its nice and easy :? The electrics are easy, its getting the little wire rod through the baseboard and into the point hole! Then holding it in place while you secure it!!! It's so tricky, even harder when you try to use superglue to hold it in place and glue your finger to the ...

Update 26th March 2007

Hi, I think it’s about time for an update, I’m sorry to say progress has been slow since the last one as I’ve been away with work more than I have been at home. Anyway here goes.... I now have all the main sections of track laid (except for 1 double slip which I still need to buy). I’ve test...

It works OK for me.

Good stuff! Just as a matter of interest, what is the gradient seen about 40 seconds into the Video?

Cheers, keep up the good work!!!

Cheers lofty,

Looking at it now, it is nothing like the original track plan I posted - so I'll re-do it at some point and post the updated final plan.

I thought it was about time for an update, even though I haven’t managed to get much done over the last few weeks. But here goes anyway: Basically, I have now got in place all the ‘behind the scenes track’ on the left hand side of the layout: http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r86/mark_brody/J...
