Re: Steam Trains to Sovereign Street

Love that 2nd to last "down the tracks" shot. :D
All crammed in like that makes it feel like a very important and busy place.
Thanks

Re: Blueberry's micro layout

I meant something like this.. ML 06 Cut.jpg The red line drawn on represents the vertical scenic break. Although that layout does have much operating potential, it's larger than yours. You may be able to add a point on each straight giving 2 sidings (one for each "scene"). Have a dig in th...

Re: Industries along branch lines?

@joshv8 If your modelling an actual place (however loosely) you should be able to find out the industries along the line. Whenever "Cornwall" and "railway freight" is mentioned from the steam era it usually entails mostly china clay traffic (some tin and copper too) but there was...

I'm not able to give any advice regarding the rogue led but if it's any help you can use a emote dimmer to control led brightness. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-12V-3-Keys-RF-Wireless-Remote-Switch-Controller-Dimmer-for-LED-Strip-Light/283264420026?hash=item41f3e008ba:m:mSMfDT_xI25fk28E9i4-i5Q I ...

It wouldn't surprise me B308. There will be a debate in Parliament on the 15th of July concerning the BBC's bias.

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

I hadn't seen the locaters for the point motors before, what a good idea! Thanks for sharing. Yes that's definatly going to make point motor fitting much easier. :D One thing to note is that in the instructions it mentions that it is for unballasted track , but this may be because you need to drill...

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

My SPC Seep point motor alignment tool came today to help me fit my point motors correctly. SPC Point Motor Toolsm.jpg SPC (Simplified Point Controls) make all sorts of these for different types and gauge track. (Including code 75) Also, of late I have been a superb Human Being helping and teaching ...

Re: St. Blazey's Works and Depot

I don't have either Bufferstop. I tried the eraser in the picture but no luck. So, I tired rubbing with a cotton bud and IPA in an inconspicuous area to see what it would do to the plastic. It left a little bit of a shine but nothing untoward. I then tried it on one side of the loco on the "CRO...

I doubt I could match the paint to be honest Bufferstop, but you mention rubbing it off. Rubbing it off with what?
Thanks

Re: St. Blazey's Works and Depot

For one of my bodge jobs working on that chassis the great big loops on the motor retaining spring just had to go. Perhaps it's only this loco but if you can see, on both sides of the actual body piece are what look like tool boxes but are in fact recesses that the ends/loops of the motor spring si...

Hi Blueberry and welcome to the forum.
Add an upright piece of wood cutting the layout in half and you could have 2 "scenes" :)
Thanks

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

2 projects on the bench today. First up testing 2 decoders that arrived today and then hard wiring and DCCing my ECC 0-4-0 - https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=51555&p=669821#p669821 Secondly, I attempted to move on with my home made decoder tester albeit witho...

Re: St. Blazey's Works and Depot

The two 6 pin decoders I won arrived today so I set about soldering in a 6 pin socket into my ECC 0-4-0 and testing both of the decoders. I think one is a Bachmann and the other is definitely a Gaugemaster but not knowing what the decoder numbers were, I used this technique to change their numbers b...
