Re: Lima GWR Parcels Railcar

Do you have the model number for easier research? Perhaps by looking / downloading the service sheet?
Thanks

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

It seems it is on back order or out of stock at most places. Is there an upgrade imminant on the decoer tester, or even perhaps an alternative on the market?
Thanks

What should I use to remove printed decals?
I want to remove the "CROFT LEICESTER" from this loco without damaging the paint work.

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

Thanks for the replies members. Sorry for the late repost but it's been a terrible last few days. But.... I think I've come up with a cunning plan but want to run it passed you chaps first. My idea is to get hold of a cheap 0-4-0 (now that i've already succesfully DCC'd an 0-4-0 using a 6pin ...

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

That's excelent. Thanks Rob. :)
After reading the EZ Command manual again it seems I can change the chip number even if it's higher than 10 but it definatly cannot change CV's / reset the chip to defaults.
Thanks

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

And that's where the EZ Command falls over. The EZ command cannot program CV's other than changing the address on the loco. As it's only capable of running 9 DCC loco's I'm not even sure if I can reset the decoder number if it's higher than 9. :? I need to read through some of the literature a...

Re: Lots to learn!

Welcome to the forum Dave1980. :) Where would be the best place/s start looking for track? Peco. Many of use prefer Peco track over Hornby. The track pieces match Hornby track in terms of dimensions. The only anomoly I've found is crossovers. I'm having to use Hornby crossovers in what is basically ...

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

OK so I have two R8215's and one R8249. Excellent. Thanks members. :)
Now, does anyone have the facility to test they all work and reset them to 3 for me?
Thanks

Re: Need help interrogating some decoders

Hmm. I'm not sure then wether the 4pin ones are R8215s or X9659s. :?
Is there any way by sight to tell the difference?

Here's both sides of the 8pin decoder with the tape removed.

Re: Gateside and Northbridge (Incorporating the Allanshaw Inglenook)

The problem with dry brushing is that is that you always end up with some in the mortar! I don't. I've found the secret is almost no paint on the brush. I wipe most off on a tissue / kitchen roll so it soaks it off the brush. I do the morter first with a wash or 2 then do the dry brushing with how ...
