Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

I have been busy lately building a couple of kits that came free on magazines. One is a static van and the other a laser cut low relief pair of terraced houses but neither are finished yet so no pictures. I glued the van together and sprayed it with grey primer but primed the building on it's sprue ...

Re: Building smoke?

The downside to these units, is the size, you'd need a large building to hide it, or put it under the baseboard. I wonder if that outlet pipe could run under the length of the baseboard and be "t -piece'd" off to various buildings using smaller pipes/tubing thus only 1 reservoir needed. :...

Re: arboretum valley

it is the reason I so admire people who may have much smaller layouts BUT who have put much more effort into each aspect scratch building updating etc Yes I'm definatly no scratchbuilder. I do like the look of some pre-made Hornby buildings but their cave like insides make it uncondusive to give th...

I don't think so as they are already etched into the front piece.

Re: Ballast Magic

I painted my baseboard tops black and used the 50/50 PVA water mix method for my ballast. The ballast seems to have taken on the black of the paint beneath and is now much darker. So if you have previously painted the baseboard it may be taking up the paint in the ballast magic changing its colour. ...

Laser cut building kit from BRM March 2019

I don't buy many magazines but I bought the March issue of BRM only because of the free low relief laser cut building kit on the front. It all seems pretty straight forward to make using the instructions in the magazine but what they do not mention is some strips on the door/window sprue and I can't...
