Re: Manquant - More Fiddling In France!

I got some time last night to extricate Manquant from the depths as I need to look at changing the power feed from the back of the back scene where it originally joined Trouvé, to a tidier set up at the front of the board. I am also thinking that I may put a return on the back scene on the right han...

Luke

That light bar has really made a difference to the photography, the light seems so natural, What a cracking idea.

PS - Do you have a visitor from Manquant in that 2CV? ;)

Manquant - More Fiddling In France!

Hi I started building this a year ago as an extension to another layout, some of you may know – Trouvé. During this year it has increasingly become a layout in it’s own right, so as the main layout is no more, I am starting a thread for it. For those of you who don't know it, here is a catch up: Man...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

End2End, PNP, Bufferstop, Lukeb, Jon_C, Buggleskelly, Allegheny1600, Thanks for the nice comments. I hope this will answer most of your questions. The main board, Trouvé, has in truth been sat covered up for over a year, since I started to build the extension – Manquant. When I finally put it all to...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

So bad news I'm afraid......... Youngest daughter who gets married next august is coming home after that to save for the rest of their house deposit. So some serious thinking by me has to be made as my modelling room is where they will be for over 12 months. So Trouvé is for the great exhibition in ...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

I love the roundhouse. I really like the feel of this layout, it's bright and colourful and fun. I'd not noticed the advertising tower before either, that's a nice touch. Where's it from? Luke Do you mean this? - a Morris Column - not after an Englishman, but Gabriel Morris (some English blood ther...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

Thanks Bufferstop and End2ends. Welcome John, thank you for your very kind comments. This layout is just some vague sunny memories of holidays with my parents in France in the mid 1960's. The bit I am working on is just the extension, you need to go right back to see the main layout - sorry. I like ...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

Well it's been a while.........to put it mildly! Mrs H has gone down to London tonight to stop with my eldest daughter who turns 32 on Sunday – I am going down tomorrow for lunch. So, guess what? Yup – the extension has come out. Can you see any progress? https://s5.postimg.org/4mar5w6w7/IMG_3831___...

Some cracking shots, I love the brass etchings (and the 4F in your earlier post)

It's funny isn't it? things always go better on the next build - that's the joy of modelling I suppose

Hi railsquid,

Don't I know you from another place?

Welcome anyway, this is where all my help came from in my early days - prior to braving NGF :)

Good to see you back modelling...
