Re: Mumbles Southern Garage Layout II

if you have an up and over? As you know, security is one issue I found to my cost despite making mine as secure as possible Thanks for the offer mate, but we have double wooden doors. My plan if I go ahead is to build a stud wall a couple of feet behind it so I still have a small area for the lawn ...

Re: Mumbles Southern Garage Layout II

That's probably about right Dave, certainly has 2x8' lengths of ply and I think when i measured the ceiling it was a little over 8'. I've got (somewhere) 2 spare large metal bolts that martin made me that are drilled through the corner of the garage door on the inside into the concrete floor to stop...

Re: Mumbles Workbench

I meant just with the B2B and one axle/wheel.. It wasn't as simple as I thought it would be, thanks for answering though, I didn't explain clearly when reading it back!

Re: Mumbles Workbench

While watching the cricket shambles this morning I added the solebars and wheels to the 7 plankers. One of which had a HUGE wobble. As it happened I had just got a B2B gauge but found it really hard to get the wheels right and square to each other but with a little trial and error managed to sort it...

Re: Mumbles 009 Narrow Gauge Musings

Crazy Track is just fine for the sort of OO9 layout you will be building, Mumbles. As Chris mentioned Peco also do some set track in OO9 which is based on the crazy track and has decent 9" curves. The only issue is that the points are dead frog, but if you take care with laying then you should...

The PMV window bars can be obtained as etches from Roxey Mouldings... http://www.roxeymouldings.co.uk/product/477/4a124-sr-window-bars-for-pmv/cct/ Of course I didn't find these until I had made them out of Plastic Strips! BUT I did manage to forget that! And bought enough for 3 vehicles! :o  ...

Re: Mumbles 009 Narrow Gauge Musings

I can see I have some knowledgeable allies here to help with loco's and things like that! As I've said elsewhere, my train knowledge is not great! While not being totally fussed about whether this loco is Uk or European outline as I like it as is, I certainly would like some other traction, whether ...

Re: Mumbles 009 Narrow Gauge Musings

I did it's true  I suppose that's one of the aims of the thread, to refine ideas and buying a coffee table to make it is a good idea I hadn't really thought of so thank you 8)

Re: Sarah's Workshop....

Thanks for that!! Always good to see how others go about making projects I have on the go or plan to do, makes me realise I shouldn't have glued the roof on my PMV yet though! Doh!!!

Re: Rewiring a 21 pin to 8 pin!

Seems a really strange solution? You can get these as well as the bachmann ones mentioned https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/21-to-8-pin-adapter-5-pack/ Or just get a 21pin decoder? I'm all for saving money and finding cheap solutions but some things require money being spent. Do it right or do it ...

Re: Mumbles 009 Narrow Gauge Musings

Thanks all. Interesting stuff Mountain, is that linked to an urban legend/myth I think I've heard that steam trains were stored in the event of a nuclear war, where diesel and electric would be affected but coal still available? Or have i imagines that tale? PNP.. A canal is a good idea as it goes, ...
