Re: Loco kit for beginner.

I was advised by various kit suppliers to try a brass chasis kit first. So I got a pannier tank chasis from Comet Models who do chasis for most steam locos. You can then fit a plastic body from an existing model. I had a couple of non running bachman panniers so I plan to use the body from one of th...

Re: Slightly

Your layout is really coming alive, I love the shed and the turntable area especially how you have weathered the ground area around the turntable tracks. I agree its hard sometimes to attack your hard earned locos with paint, I attack the cheaper wagons instead :D

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed

Sound! You will be wanting them to move next  Although that may be possible when I found this morning that the white VW beetle has sprung wheels so that they wind up when you push it backwards and when I let go it shot off the end of the road  8)

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed

Hi All, The Scalescene Navies have been in and relaid all the road and pavements up the high street. They have also started a new stone wall along the station. It now just needs painting and capping stones added and then fixing down. A new double decker bus has also appeared today. I hope you like t...

Hi Southernboy,
Its a concrete surface with drainage in between the tracks. It would have been for washing away animal wastes etc.

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed

Hi All, I must admit I have been a bit lazy lately with regards the layout. This week I have been doing some more work on the station platforms. I have weathered the new platform surface by airbrushing and weathering powders. I think they look good in the flesh but the camera struggles to pick up th...

Re: Red brick metcalfe station/buildings

Hi Adam, The red brick Metcalfe stations are based on typical Cheshire stations that are still in use today. I live near two stations in Widnes that look exactly like the metcalf kits. Here are some pics of Hough Green, Widnes: http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p195/JohnGeeeee/P5102478med.jpg http:...
