Re: Hornby 2019 Range Speculation Thread

I have had real trouble getting on the Hornby site to look over whats included (same every year with massive influx of people  ) anyway while looking for an alternative source of info i found Sams Trains on you tube is currently live streaming a review of the range with Hattons. You can move th...

Re: Double sided sticky tape

You forgot the other type: cheap nasty - that refuses to peel off correctly and can’t stick anything down at all   On a more helpful note, we got some tape to stick down flooring in the bathrooms- I massively over estimated how much we would need  and it’s been super useful for the ...

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

There seems to be a thing where a brake or composite coach from a rake of coaches from Hornby is for sale at a reduced price, but the corresponding brake or composite coach for that rake is twice the price of the sale item. Alex. Yes that caught me out as well  I’ve had to order a preowned al...

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

I grabbed a few bits yesterday to complete part sets I got for presents while the prices are still good The only other thing was some more of the SECR coaches from Bachman, not because they are good prices (~£50 a pop) but because I know they won’t be around for long having sold out at most places I...

Re: Goo Gone

When using it in CMX rail cleaner there is no real risk of the IPA getting on paint

The rail cleaner itself is brass & it soaks into a pad on the bottom which then runs along the rails to clean them.

I’ve never had an issue with it

Re: BARGAINS!

pounstretcher and the like tend to vary between stores and don't tend to sell online due to the low price points. I would suggest checking your local store to see if they stock them (call ahead maybe?)

Re: Future Concepts and Traditions.

While I don’t use them anymore one thing I did really enjoy doing was dismantling the old triang motors to see how thy worked and service them.

It was really educational, the trouble with the newer stuff is it’s so delicate in comparison so I’m really put off with the worry I will break something

Re: Hattons website issue on Google Chrome

Some stores like amazon for example keep your cart across devices, so if you add it on one it’s there on all - assuming your logged in Others can’t do this and if you change browser or device your basket does not move with you I will be totally honest I can’t remember what Hattons does, if it used t...

Re: Hattons website issue on Google Chrome

Double check that the URL has https at he start- I would even say google it and go in that way instead of bookmarks etc The other thing to try is clearing out chrome, I tend to do this via Ccleaner but you can do it via chrome menus This is my default troubleshooting step as it fixes all sorts of wi...

As with everything i guess - just check prices against others as even with sale it may be cheaper elsewhere! (recent amazon Hornby 'black friday' offers for example are more then Hattons etc)

Re: Sales query

I have only once taken bits to a local shop to get rid of and even then it was in part exchange towards something else, i got next to nothing for them but its stuff i didn't want not worth the time selling it online. It was that or charity shop (I doubt they would have even taken it) If your a...
