Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

With the new SECR C class on its way there has been an influx onto eBay of people trying to cash in on the high going rate

I say influx, there are 3 or 4, but normally it’s one every few months

I don't think that the DCC equipment is covered by their normal lifetime warranty, but defiantly contact them to see what they say

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

I was debating something similar to be honest, maybe finding another loco that’s similar but cheaper and repainting it in a similar livery - it’s the shade of blue that makes it.

Just have to add it to a very long to do list

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

It would be very optimistic to hope that the fully lined C class would return on sale at £69 or whatever it was when it regularly fetches £300+ on eBay regardless of pressures from Kader! No but the £150 mark would be fairer price point compared to the other locos on the market. The prices on eBay ...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

OK, that ideas gone out of the window - Hattons have it listed at £191.21  I don't know if thats just inflation or if they are cashing in on the livery, knowing it went nuts second hand on eBay last time around so they can get away with it. Fair enough the livery is complex, but Hornby have T...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

They are redoing the SECR C class in fully lined livery, it will be interesting to see what the RRP is and what effect it has on stupid second hand prices

i am hoping its another running number so i can justify grabbing one on preorder

Re: Hornby 2019 Range Speculation Thread

I have had real trouble getting on the Hornby site to look over whats included (same every year with massive influx of people  ) anyway while looking for an alternative source of info i found Sams Trains on you tube is currently live streaming a review of the range with Hattons. You can move th...

Re: Double sided sticky tape

You forgot the other type: cheap nasty - that refuses to peel off correctly and can’t stick anything down at all   On a more helpful note, we got some tape to stick down flooring in the bathrooms- I massively over estimated how much we would need  and it’s been super useful for the ...

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

There seems to be a thing where a brake or composite coach from a rake of coaches from Hornby is for sale at a reduced price, but the corresponding brake or composite coach for that rake is twice the price of the sale item. Alex. Yes that caught me out as well  I’ve had to order a preowned al...

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

I grabbed a few bits yesterday to complete part sets I got for presents while the prices are still good The only other thing was some more of the SECR coaches from Bachman, not because they are good prices (~£50 a pop) but because I know they won’t be around for long having sold out at most places I...

Re: Goo Gone

When using it in CMX rail cleaner there is no real risk of the IPA getting on paint

The rail cleaner itself is brass & it soaks into a pad on the bottom which then runs along the rails to clean them.

I’ve never had an issue with it

Re: BARGAINS!

pounstretcher and the like tend to vary between stores and don't tend to sell online due to the low price points. I would suggest checking your local store to see if they stock them (call ahead maybe?)

Re: Future Concepts and Traditions.

While I don’t use them anymore one thing I did really enjoy doing was dismantling the old triang motors to see how thy worked and service them.

It was really educational, the trouble with the newer stuff is it’s so delicate in comparison so I’m really put off with the worry I will break something
