sounds just like the issue i have - I thought mine was a leaking roof :lol:

while not fixed i have put some kitchen roll onto the nails that appeared to be causing the 'leak' but must just be acting as a funnel for the moisture and the drops have gotten allot less frequent.

with the battery tip is there any issues with it? are the sellers likely to get iffy if i try? - if so i can always test it after buying i guess :)

I got a top feed dual action airbrush a few months ago from ebay - very easy to get to grips with not yet mastered fine detail though! mines a cheap copy but figured it would do for my first brush and if i get into it i could invest in a better quality one quick tip - make sure you clean it thorough...

It depends on the layout of the show i guess - if it was upto me people would walk up one side and down the other for each row (which is what i do) with room in the middle for people to pass but even then you would have people being rude/pushy etc just because that's who they are. one thing i notice...

Toy Fairs etc - avoid duffs

I went to a toy fair a few months ago and am looking forward to my next, however i just wanted to get some advice on how to avoid / what to do if i brought a loco and find when i get it home it does not work last time i went they didn't give out receipts but no one did so i didn't really think much ...

sounds like more research is needed, a wagon kit to start is also a good idea

where is the best place to get scraps of brass from?

Thanks for the info, i have had a fair bit of experience with Airfix kits but never metal kits - is there plastic kits for model trains that can be made to run? start of with something a bit more familiar (and cheaper) but cant solder very well at all - only ever done wires and only over past month ...

Thanks for the links :D looks really useful a quick question about the motors and wheels, how do you go about finding ones that are going to be compatible with the rest of the kit? (could I use a tri-ang X04? and wheels from an old loco?) I know there is a massive RTR range but really like the idea ...
