Ok, so here's a few pics of progress so far. Excuse the mess, it's a construction and playzone in one! The branchline and raised section at the back has now been removed so we're left with just the main twin track loop. http://couchracer.com/images/railway/rail1.jpg I've cut and flipped over a piece...

Nice looking design i would swap one pair of urnouts on the outer loop th other way so trains can pass from one to the other without reversing. I know what you mean and it's something I keep changing my mind on as they can pass between tracks if they originate from the station (and also the points ...

Quick update on progress. I have finished laying the track for the mainline which has also allowed me to mount the upper level onto the main baseboard. I am now laying track for the branchline and thankfully Percy can make the turn!! (with a small modification to my original plan!) http://www.noshou...

Hi,

Yes, it is OO scale. The baseboard is 7' x 4' and the top turn isn't quite as tight as it looks, Percy should be able to make it!!

XtrkCAD was fairly easy to use but I would'nt say I am a master! I just managed to get it to look roughly like what I had imagined!

The mainline and branch not being connected is intentional to hopefully simplify operation for my son. The two mainlines will be for running express trains (ie. the Eurostar I have bought him!) controlled by Grafar intertia controllers and the branch will be operated by Thomas pulling Annie & Cl...

Layout for my son - Eastfleet

I'm building a layout for my 4 1/2 year old son for Christmas and I thought I'd share my experiences with you all and get you comments and suggestions seeing as I have managed to find some very useful information on this site and forums. Here is my trackplan: http://www.noshout.com/modelrail/jack2.j...
