Jeff,
one further point, a Bachmann Collet is on the wish list, however, I more considered it a goods loco. Hopefully, a Dean single will also fill in the roster to recreate the 'early' days, although running quality seems a little remiss.

Jeff, yes, you are correct the 61XX is a tank engine. In so far as the Castle, I have my eye on the Bachmann 60 foot Collets. They do look nice, but the problem is that a rake of even four cars would be longer than my anticipated platform length and being an end of line type branch, would leave most...

Typically, in the larger scale with which I am most familiar, diodes can be used to 'finetune' loco speed, when double heading on DC power. Each diode will reduce loco input voltage by 0.7 volts. Thus one could utilise the required number of diodes needed to slow down the faster locomotive.
