Re: Legality or moral ethics

Keiron, the Rothschild cabal, one world order with the banking order in control and all of us showing allegiance to that order. This may sound political but it is the future where we are heading but politics are not our future just subservience to the cabal. The conspiracy would have one believe tha...

Re: Legality or moral ethics

In an ideal world one's parents taught one to be honest, to wait your turn in a que, to show respect for others, give up your seat to a person older than you or to a pregnant lady and an honest dollar for an honest day's work. Alas, not every child has ideal parents and not every human is ideal. Tod...

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

Alas, with the looming deadline drawing near and the temptation too great, I opted for a second Heljan Metropolitan/London Transport bo-bo and a Hornby late crest Radial. Both are quirky but appealing designs and purchased more out of interest than need. Edit: In the final moments I also went for fo...

I recently purchased this model from the Hattons pre-owned section in mint condition. A very nice model.

Re: Decision time - the sale of the century

I succumbed to the beckoning wail of the sirens and purchased a Heljan Metropolitan livery bo-bo. I will never have "near enough" teak coaches for it to haul but will make do with what I have. A couple of other items are calling but I am trying to block my ears to the temptation. I do not ...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge (Incorporating the Allanshaw Inglenook)

Very smart loco, but be careful, that grass looks very dry, just watch the sparks :o we dont want any fires in the yard! Cracking shots! Just an anecdote. Before the Botany Bay branchline was redirected around Sydney Airport, the branch travelled very close to the maintenance hangars. During the dr...

Re: First dcc converted loco start stop

Hi Thanks for responses I think I will look for a decoder with stay alive then............................... Assuming as stated in a previous posting that the decoder is not being overpowered with a high amp draw you can fit the bogie power pickups from a later Chinese ringfield locomotive. This w...

Re: class T9 chassis rot

The latest 1938 Suburban train pack arrived this afternoon so I set about repairing it. As suspected, both the gear retainer and the rear mount had disintegrated. While the pack appears as new/unused (as I had hoped, accessory bags unopened) the loco had a few cosmetic issues with one mid mounted ac...

Decision time - the sale of the century

With less than a week to go are the bargains really bargains or just another sale. Many of the items have been reduced in price for a long time prior the sale and yet stock numbers are seemingly constant, This reflects that either stock levels were very high and/or little buyer interest even at the ...

Re: First dcc converted loco start stop

...............What is a stay alive? Thanks A stay alive is commonly used on decoder equipped locomotives where stalling is common, usually with a short wheelbase steam loco or diesel. It is basically a capacitor with a diode and resistor in the circuit and is connected to the decoder "+"...

Re: First dcc converted loco start stop

Most likely loss of power pickup as the pickups on early Hornby locomotives were limited (I assume a ringfield conversion). Without a stay alive any loss of power will cause the loco to reset.

Re: Tempting fate Taiwan eBay seller

To my pleasant surprise both of the locomotives arrived this morning, 27/12/18 and were new condition. EBay had me believing that arrival was not for about three or four weeks into the new year. The only accessories was a bag containing a few NEM couplers to fit to loco. Unlike the images shown on t...

Re: Tempting fate Taiwan eBay seller

Many thanks gentlemen. I have purchased numerous items previously from China with no issues but none from Taiwan. I simply thought it odd that a Taiwanese seller would have two NRM limited edition City class "City of Truro" listed. Maybe they "fell off the back of a truck". I wil...
