Re: Kingswood Junction. Trains are running!

Well ladies and gentlemen, I have reach a milestone in that the layout is more or less completely wired and I can now run trains around it :) There must be over 100 droppers. Every bit of track/points is wired. http://steveclare.net/Loft%20Layout/Layout%20Pics/Update150315/IMG_0856.jpg Had a bit of ...

Re: Building Platforms

There's always the 18mm MDF with matchstick edges and plasticard sides option :)

Now I hadn't thought of that. Thanks

2 track station terminus canopy options.

Hi. I'm after something like the scalescenes terminus roof but it's too wide for my double track station. http://scalescenes.com/products/R005a-L ... erall-Roof
Does anyone know of anything else available that is about 280-300mm wide?

Thanks

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Well I've made some progress. Don't know why I didn't think of it before but I think it would/will be easier to paint a whole sheet of brick plasticard and then cut and stick them to the platform edges in situ. :/ http://steveclare.net/Loft%20Layout/Layout%20Pics/Update210215/IMG_0415.jpg Thought I'...

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Thing is, I want to continue videoing train runs so would like to have detail on the 'hidden' sides.
Guess I'll just have to persevere. Bare with me :)

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Ha ha.....I won't tell anyone.. This has been stopping me from continuing. I could just stick all the platforms in place and start actually running my railway but I also want to have everything detailed. The way I'm painting my embossed brickwork on the platform edges wouldn't work with them in situ...

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Ahhhhhhhhhh! Not been back up in the loft since my last post! Skyblue, I don't know but it's the Scalescenes paid download. My platforms are still sitting on the spare bed. I'd started painting the edges but got bored of it. My signal box is still sitting on a shelf in the same room! Do you guys det...

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Not a lot of progress due to having a bugger of a cold for about 2 weeks. I've managed to make a signal box though :D This is my first attempt at a Scalescenes product, or any card kit for that matter and I have to say the one thing the instructions need is a blow up of what the thing SHOULD look li...

Re: Hornby MK3 Executive livery HST coaches R4631/2 A,B,C?

Thanks.
I did/do still want the power cars but couldn't wait and thought, well a blue/grey power car at either end would probably be more prototypical for my era anyway so I've bought The Hornby R3138 set. :)
In fact, I don't think I ever saw a complete HST in executive livery back in my day :o

Re: Kingswood Junction (First Layout since 1984)

Layout is being based in the mid 80's. The stations that I used to frequent as a spotter at that time definitely had yellow lines . Not the tactile slabs mind. (luckily) :) EDIT - After viewing some old photos of this era.... You are correct Bufferstop...There were no yellow lines. Thanks for the in...
