Hmm, I only went to my locsl preservation line last week for a tour introducing me to the carraige works where I will b volunteering for my DofE (more on that in febuary) and the trains don't actually run in the winter anyway, so I doubt I will actually be getting a proper railway outing for a while...

Well, seeing as I've been snowed out of school today :D, I decided that i just wanted to do a little model thing with some snow. I had a hunt around for an old loco and some card buildings that weren't in use at the time and this is what I came up with: snow 1.png on this one I just removed the back...

i got: a summerhouse to put my new layout in, £50 to pay my dad back for the BoB engine i ought off ebay in november and didnt hav the money for :D half of a DCC controller (the other half i get for my bithday at the end of january, by that time i hope to have the track down) the promise of any more...

online i mostly use ebay, with occasional visits to the model railway loft (i picked up some decoders for 13 quid the other day, and they sent 2 celebration sweets in the pakage as well!) out in the real world, cheltenham model shop is 10 mins away from me, i love looking at their large second hand ...

i got taken up the wobbly ladder up to to the loft aged three by my dad with a small couple of loops, and some of his ancient stock; 2 pullmans (both different makes), 4 southern coaches (each coach a different make!), a joef engine that eventualy fell down the loft hatch and a BR "black engine...

well, i think i'll go for it anyway, give it a go, as i need some new point motors anyway, and if they don't work, knowing me, i'll have got them cheap so not the end of the world. thanks for all the help guys :D

ideally i would like to have my point motors underneath the board, but i have added the links you have given me to my watch list. what do you mean by "sufficient travel"? do you mean that the motors are only designed to shift a certain distance and that thie distance required to shift the ...

i've spent almost 10 years living with these points, some of them work, and some don't, on DC, so should do on DCC. i am hoping to put as many old these old points as possible in sidings where they won't be operated by motors, only by hand, and won't need to hav as good a connection as trains won't ...

ok, thanks, will now go on ebay and see if i can find some nice cheap point motors :D got a tiny hand drill that sounds perfect for the job of making the small holes in the points.
