Some interseting pics there, this picture seems rather close!! I was wondering just how much buffeting you get from the wind as it passes. Almost makes me want to head for France.

Re: West Somerset Railway

Some great photo's there, though it looks as though you may not have had much luck with the weather. Mind you, some of the storm clouds look good. Nice and moody. The first pic was my favourite, it's always a bit hit and miss trying to get the steam just right.

Interesting pics, are you supposed to sit like that? Those girls look as though they are going to fall off.

Re: Deltic 22 Railtour - Saturday 19th July

It's a bit late but here's a photo of 55022 just north of Pontrilas between Abergavenny and Hereford. I almost missed it, I thought it was due out of Cardiff at 5pm and by 6:20pm I was beginning to wonder whether I'd got there too late or it was a late cancellation. http://i103.photobucket.com/album...

Re: BrotherWolf's Rly Pics **updated 30/06/08 2 steam 2 diesel**

Here are a few shots taken last month on the line from Hereford to Abergavenny. The photo comp for July was scenic and I was hoping to get something suitable but the main reason of the day was Deltic 55022 Royal Scots Grey on a run from Blackpool to Cardiff and seen here on the return at Pontrilas. ...

What a great picture of the scenery, I love the way it goes from mostly finished back to just started.

It always amazes me that with a gauge that small, it just doesn't tumble off!!

Nice pics though, usually you would catch a few freight workings via gloucester mainly being the 6B13 and 6B47 Westerleigh and Robeston workings which will guarantee a Tug  Cheers Adam, I thought I'd been lucky when I looked at a website (one of the train times ones) and found the tunnel shut...

Thanks for the advice Pedanticmongrel. When I took the photo's near Ferryside I was out taking photographs for Geograph http://www.geograph.org.uk/ . As a result they were more for location specific rather than aesthetic quality. Mind you, from what I saw, it looks a great place to spend a sunny day...

This weekend the Severn Tunnel was closed due to engineering works (thank you Network Rail). As a result First Great Western sent their Paddington - Swansea HST's via Gloucester. As a result here are my photo's taken on Saturday. At least this month I'll have something to enter in the photo competit...

Some great pics there. I really like the last one of the Freightliner. Surprising really as I'm not usually a great fan of shots going away ( though I always do it :D ).

Re: Trainspotting with Ollie

What a depressing picture of Duchess of Sutherland, I just had a look at the timings and it was at Abergavenny station for 45 mins. If I'd known, I'd have popped over there.

Great pictures.
