That's an idea which I have thought of, but will need further experimentation if its to work. I'd have to do the tube up as a sewer pipe, or maybe an electrical one so that it doesnt look out of place. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I've also started applying mid-tan shoepolish to my hut. It look...

Right, at Narrow Gauge South I bought two excellent trucks from the 009 society's sales stand (wooo alliteration!) One is a tiny metal coal truck, the other is a guard's van. The coal truck has been nicely weathered by the original owner, and I intend to weather the guard's van as well. I'll post up...

South Park hadn't been invented yet back then. I guess I haven't actually specified the era yet. It's in 1936, so I can use steam engines! I'm guessing that their steam produced will waft out of manholes and storm drains.

To weather wood, most people use india ink with a little alcohol - steady with the alcohol *hiccup* For that sign, what about: 'Grease in the Gutter' Karaoke Night Featuring Wendy the Hobo Singing ~~ Hopelessly Devoted To Poo ~~ Can someone please ban him? There is actually a hobo camp on the...

Also, from a suggestion made by dr5euss, I've decided to shorten the hut's height as well. Has anyone ever tried to ...

Oh dear.....what would be a suitable sewer related reference instead of fish today? Effluent today? Good looking layout though I've got to be mature... I've got to be mature! *Reists writing 'poop is smelly' on the noticeboard* I was thinking about writing some random notice about disease o...

I've decided to use this model made by Harburn Hobbies for the workers' rest area. I intend to change the 'fish today' sign and replace it with some sewer related notice. http://www.harburnhobbies.co.uk/acatalog/qs430lg.jpg The scratchbuilding is going slowly - I'm practising making a wood effect by...

My previous Brunchton and Son Coilery was given up due to lack of operational interest and the fact that it wasn't narrow gauge. The signature mentioned Porceh Lane Clay is still up in the air; I might build it in the future as a scenic test or as a display for my (hopefully) future collection of ro...

Bunji's Layout - Smellitt & Runn Sewer Construction Co.

After being inspired by 'That Dam Railway', I began to think more about focusing a layout on the construction of large-scale civil engineering. I chose a sewer layout after reading about the Mt. Albert Tramway in New Zealand. This was a small industrial line used to build a sewer tunnel beneath a re...
