Re: Wheel cleaner

I have one which does an okay job. I also use a bit of kitchen towel soaked in Goo Be Gone and lay it on the tracks and run the locos and stock over it.

Re: Options for a diesel loco ?

I think your criteria is too restricted there are only a few with cab lights. I think they are the larger locos. The smallers ones making it difficult to fit lighting in as standard as they get smaller. The Bachmann 47 is a great loco, I have 5 so far, to be honest though I do not use the cab lights...

Re: BR Railfreight liveries

You would be correct, I think the RFD grey/yellow came into effect after 1988 up until 1994. My layout is 80s based so I run a mix of all three.

I do agree but mine arrived with a cab door missing and no smokebox dart.

Just had a read over this thread, what a wonderful layout, so much attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Jas,

Good to see you back, been a while since I have been on here myself though. No progress made on my side, more locos and stock bought though :)

Re: Shortage of TSOs?

MK3 TSO suffer the same problem. I am not sure why but it seems manufacturers make as many Brake and TFO as they do TSOs. Very frustrating.

Great job Mike, I also like the PDF download, took me just a few minutes on my DSL connection.

I use Peco Insulfrog and I don't have insulated joiners. Never had any problems with short circuits either.

J just use the standard 8 pin Bachmann decoder in my HST. I have them fitted in the DMUs as well.
