Re: Tonglington Abbey - Kato N Gauge Unitrack in 4ft by 16ins

So, the easy part of the board construction done, it was time to tackle the issue of the the wrap around back scene boards. Unfortunately at this time the weather became somewhat wetter which required me to retire to the kitchen, I basically just screwed the remaining mdf board (which had been unscr...

Re: Tonglington Abbey - Kato N Gauge Unitrack in 4ft by 16ins

Construction Begins Some month's ago I had already stripped the baseboard I was going to use and so when Sinead went away to her mother's with the girls for a week I decided it was time to get to work, I took the board outside the front and unscrewed one of the supporting timbers, relocated it to w...

Tonglington Abbey - Kato N Gauge Unitrack in 4ft by 16ins

I've been working on something over the summer, based on the fact we don't know where we will be living I decided to dismantle my large 4ft by 4ft 00 layout as it was a rather cumbersome beast, salvage what I could, and get planning again. I pulled open my map of the Isle of Siddington, did a little...

Re: Siddington Junction Locomotive, Carriage & Wagon Works

The works at Siddington recently took delivery of a second hand six wheel coach which is to be trialled on the line up to Upper Muddleston for clearances, being continental it is smaller than the island's regular coaching stock but it is hoped that this will make it more suited to the branch line's ...

Re: Siddington Junction Locomotive, Carriage & Wagon Works

No, don't attempt to correct your screen, this stock is actually much smaller than the rest, going down to n gauge now, but the works remains the same. First up is a loco in for overhaul and repaint into the Siddington Railway/Region company's livery, the lines on the island now grouped together at l...

Re: Starting again, in N, again.

I've stripped my 00 layout back to the board and have to offload...

Re: If you were a model railway manufacturer, what would you make?

I'd opt for N gauge, and I'd launch my range with: N2 in GNR, LNER and BR liveries Set with LNER N2 and say a Quad-art set with a circle of track and an easy to build card platform and a controller. I'd opt for the Kato system or a british manufactured equivalent (Or at least close to british protot...

Re: New / Old

This is fantastic, I love Dublo and early Triang stuff, although i'm thinning out my 00 due to a future possible move and taking up N gauge. I might have some Dublo wagons to sell if you are interested? I really enjoy seeing proper dublo set ups, I've seen a few at exhibitions that were largish oval...

Re: Lower Muddleston Revisited

Sorry for the lack of posting, my access has been some what limited of late, but before I sort, resize and upload and post some pictures of the layout as far as I have it, here are some pics of construction. The foundations: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4707/28145972099_5b4808792d_b.jpg https://fa...

Lower Muddleston Revisited

About three or four years ago I had a twin level layout called Lower and Upper Muddleston (although the upper part was a dead end). This layout had a shed, goods shed, station on a curve and a small cottage. I've returned to the 00 fold properly now and its time to revisit Lower Muddleston. This lay...

Re: Siddington Junction Locomotive, Carriage & Wagon Works

While Storm Ophelia was raging a new locomotive was taking shelter at Siddington Works after being treated for some sort of power transmission issue. This is a photo from the works report which shows what they found. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4482/24014067388_bbc170ef31_o.jpg From outside spott...

They are quite rare to find and often sell for a bit, I'd love a few of them to put into different liveries.
