Re: My Layout

I also thought that Train pack was a good deal, you were getting the coaches free. I did not get it though, I don't think I could at the time.

Re: Update on 4472 'Flying Scotsman'

I think I will email them to see it, it will be interesting to see what's really going on. No loco's restoration should be rushed, they need to be done carefully to make sure everything is done to the best standard. Flying Scotsman is a example of why not to rush locomotive restorations, it was supp...

Re: My Layout

Hi Mark, Your A4 looks good against those Teaks. I've got the railroad version of the teaks at the moment, the original ones which came the the Flying Scotsman set which got me hooked. I hope to get some of the premium version of the teaks sometime, it probably won't be until the wiring of the layou...

Re: Update on 4472 'Flying Scotsman'

Oh right, I guess that people just want to see her running. How many mistakes could the NRM make in overhauling her. Nice way to spend your 90th birthday year, in bits around the country. You'd think that the NRM could take some consideration into making it a quick overhaul, as a lot of people want ...

Re: Update on 4472 'Flying Scotsman'

More delays? I guess it was expected, I think that the money should be spent on different projects, and not tones of it spent on FS. I know people donated most of it, but I think it should have still been put towards other projects.

Re: My Layout

Hi everyone, Another update, this one with pictures (Coming soon!) Today bit of progress has been made on the control panel. We got the perspex for the main box of it, two pieces and some wood, but with the back open for wiring. Also, the vinal with the track plan for the extension on it has also be...

Re: My Layout

A small update today, I had a quick go at soldering today, I'd done a bit before a few years ago, so I tried again today, just on a bit of spare wire. It went quite well. Also, We have done a bit of planning on which points get moters first. Like the ones which are important to locos getting to the ...

Re: My Layout

Hi everyone, Again, sorry for not posting for a while but not too much has been going on. Its going to get started again soon though. We are going to pain the extension and then pin the track down, and then try with point moters. We went to a few model shops yesterday for advice, we got some really ...

If your after coaches, I know that sometimes on Ebay people spilt the loco from the coaches and sell a coach pack with 3 extra coaches.

Oh yes, I'll change it now. I would have preferred a Black 5 but was fine with the 8F.

Re: Scarborough Spa Express

I went on it yesterday, hauled by 8F 48151, which was a surprise as the rest of the week, Black 5 44932 hauled it. She performed very well and did not Break down!
I agree with everything you have said there, and it was a excellent journey despite getting wet at turn!

Re: Bachmann's rechassied V2

I got green arrow as a Birthday Present today, I was impressed with it. The Moter is a bit noisy but I think that is just because its a first time running, and its not a major problem and nothing that bothers me.

I can't really imagine the Special Evening star model selling as good as the railroad one!
