Re: Bargain EWS HAA MGR wagons 2012 release

Just looked, no sign of them unless I looked in the wrong place. Must have sold out at that price ?
I had a good trawl round, single wagons at £9 not as a pack of 3.

Point me in he right direction if I missed them, I could do with half a dozen !

Re: Scrounging for DCC blanking plate

As tom tom go says. If you join the three pins together in each corner, as per the photo, it will will give you direction and lights as well. I use an eight pin connector made up of 2 x 4 Maplins pins glued to together and electrically joined using staples soldered together. It works for me. Maplins...

Re: How to not lose tiny springs

Alternatively, and its an old idea, thread the spring onto a piece of cotton and then use tweezers, or whatever, to locate the spring. You should be able to put any cover over the spring and pull the cotton through once the spring is secure. I have just been assembling some Kadee no7's and it saves ...

Re: Decals: make your own on the computer

Just come across this thread. Just a warning from personal experience about Lazer Trans waterslide transfer paper, the laser printing sheets. Firstly they come as a pack of 8 and at £14.40 per pack (£1.80 each) they aren't cheap. Followed the instructions, managed to mangle four sheets, and had to s...

Re: Difference Between DCC Chips

Time to cough up to finding the instruction sheet that came with one of the decoders, so I should be able to get what I want now. The paperwork was hidden amongst other stuff at the bottom of my DCC box. BromsMods asks Were these bought as new? - Yes If so, where from? - a dealer located near the Li...

Re: Difference Between DCC Chips

Two TCS decoders, no paperwork other than a piece of paper telling me to make sure I use needle nose pliers when removing the plug. Yes, F0 on my control unit has a light sign by it so I know that works. The Lenz decoder works the lights regardless of direction, the TCS one works going forward only....

Re: Difference Between DCC Chips

It seems there is a difference between decoders. Being new to DCC, but using kit I bought over the years, I found an elderly Lenz decoder will operate the lights in both directions on one loco, but a TCS M2 won't when I swop the decoder over. The Lenz came with all the paperwork, but the TCS one did...
