Where are all the new models

Hi everyone, am I the only one wondering where all the new N Gauge models have gone. I keep looking and the number of available models in stock at some of the online retail stores and the quantity seems to be declining rapidly. For example, I went to a famous retailer from Widnes and out of 56 Dapol...

Farish Virgin Class 56

Last Friday I placed an order for the new class 56 loco in Virgin livery - 57 306 Jeff Tracy It arrived today and I have to say it is a superb model. The tooling was perfect and the motor is so quiet and it is very powerful. I am very, very impressed, so impressed that I'm seriously considering buyi...

Connectors for Kato K11400

Hello
Recently bought Kato Gottardo N Gauge set and careless me broke one of the connectors between cars 3 and 4.

Anyone know where I can source these from or maybe someone has a broken set I can buy?

Re: Poor quality control

Update- the Fairburn has arrived. A bit rough at low speed even after running in. May be the decoder, so have ordered another one by a different manufacturer to find out. Cab steps fell off, found at trackside. Front links around the piston rods the wrong way round on one side. Referring to the pho...

Re: Price increases on used items

Yes I have noticed the greed there too. There are lots of items for sale now that are at least 5 years old and the price being asked is more today than it was to buy it brand new. The only way to stop this is if we refuse to buy.

Re: Poor quality control

What is your experience of the Fairburn regarding its pulling power? Does it have tyres? I was not impressed by the relative mechanical crudity of the Royal Scot, just slots in the chassis for axles instead of bearings and wipers for contacts, so I'm sticking to ones with bearings that are also the...

Re: Poor quality control

Bufferstop, thanks for your reply. As an FYI, I have ceased buying new Dapol steam locomotives. The reliability, in my opinion, has got worse in recent years and I hate the noisy drive shaft between the tender and the loco. The best steam locos I bought in the past couple of years have all been GF. ...

Re: Galgorm Hall - Reborn

Since coming back in to this hobby I've realised I'm a scenic modeller and not a track builder or creator. I just don't have the vision of how a railway line works and would happily take the plans of another individual and build my own vision of the scenery round that track. Paul Paul, I am the exa...

Re: Dapol imperfections or am I expecting too much?

Finally, and I find this so hard to believe if I hadn't been there, a another modeler arrived with a brand new Class 33, put it on the tracks, directional lights came on, and nothing else. Whipped the body off and lo, no motor, shaft or worm to connect to the cogs on each axle. I had one of these a...

Re: I must stop spending!

Spotted today on EBay that Kato have just released their new version of the Eurostar in N gauge. Of course, even though I have all my Christmas presents I had to buy the 12-car set so let's call it a New Years Day present instead.
