Re: East Cheltwell
Hi Eastern,
Excellent update & lovely photos. The engine shed that has become partly overgrown looks really good & effort you put into mixing the various flock, lichen etc makes this corner look particularly good.
I also love the views of the station & how the track sweeps through it.

Your welcome Mark. I agree having an over view of the layout gives the viewer a better understanding of the OPs plans. Although I'm as guilty as everyone else when submitting photos, in focussing on the bits completed or near complete & hiding the parts yet to be done   Thanks re the w...

Re: Chinley, Modern Image N Gauge
Hi Mat,
I like the plan & your track looks to be laid well. Its good to see you've gone for an open frame. It'll give you much more scope & variety in scenic design.
I look forward to see how your layout progresses.

Thats a very impressive build of the Shewsbury signal box Mark, I hope the signalmen dont get vertigo. Its very imposing just like the real thing.
Also like your telephone kiosks, they look very fiddly to build.

Its always a pleasure to see your layout Michael. Loads of great detailing like the sign at the crossing & the self servicing machines.
Did your redone sea surface with PVA in the quay come out ok?

Well I've been back and read-through from the start - I can't believe it's only two years ago you started this layout - you must be really pleased with how much you've achieved in such a short time! And I've a special request ... I'd love to see a few pictures taken from the operator's perspective ...

Thanks Eastern, thats very kind of you.
Others like Southern Boy set it & the challenge for us is to follow. If wasnt for this site I wouldnt tried to make half the items on the layout.

Nearly forgot to say. Its brillant layouts of the likes of Mark, Paul, Phil C, Jim & a number of others. They show what can be done & inspires me to try new things. Then they raise the bar higher to new heights & we have to try to follow.

Re: Rayne St, Fictional N-Gauge Layout - Update 22/01/13
Hi Peeps, Time for a long over due update. I've been concentrating on the scenic area by the bungalow, where the line enters the tunnel by the branch line station. This consisted of a fence to run along the top of the embankment to the tunnel & scenic development along the lane, hedges, few tree...

Lovely photo Phil, it gives a great sense of depth going off into the back scene.

Re: Dirty pit stuff!
Don't suppose you can remember the exact name? I looked on woodland scenics site & there's loads of stuff to make trees with - foliage, clump foliage etc Its the Woodlands Scenic Foliage (60sq ins) Keith, not the foam Clump Foliage. The station up by the back scene is tricky. The back of the ha...

The Pullman sitting in the station looks good.
The view through the bridge looks ok. But once the backscene is in, the view through the bridge will give a greater sense of depth.

Re: Rayne St, Fictional N-Gauge Layout
Thanks Mark & John, your kind comments are appreciated. Thanks for the tip re painting interior black. I'll need to cut the base out to access the interior. So I'll need to purchase a suitable mini saw blade, as the resin base is about 5mm thick. Progress has been slow of late. :o Though I've ha...
