Re: Now For ...."Works End"

The board was originally intended for 00 with one siding on the rear upper level and a warehouse spanning that and another track on the middle level - and, had I been feeling affluent, 009 on the lowest level! But I have what I have, so having found lots of scatter stuff which I had mislaid.... http...

Re: Hornby HM2000 or something else?

I rarely comment on (or indeed have any thoughts on!) such technical matters but having an HM2000 and a (single track) Gaugemaster then my vote is for the latter. My G'master is ancient (and I suspect I bought it secondhand) and languished in the damp semi-outdoors for at least 10 years yet works fi...

Re: My (N gauge) table football layout!

You make it look so easy! How do you prevent the (presumably) plaster mesh sagging between each support? Mine would look like a roller coaster!

I've always greatly liked and admired this layout - and it just gets better.

The brewery feature above the rocky face and tunnel mouth looks absolutely right. Nice work.

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

Thanks, Chief! I'm having to make the scenics up as I go along - this is not the layout/scale for which the board was built!

But I do like having the multi levels built in to the basic structure, even if track all on just one.

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

Just paint job for now - until it's warm enough to search in garage for what scatters I have and save up for more! http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p56/wasnti/NG2016/19Feb_zps1ppo2d5x.jpg In easily removeable sections - can disguise the joins a bit with scatter! http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/...

Top marks for taking the destruction as an opportunity, rather than being disheartened (as I'm sure I would have been).

Looking forward to the new and better version!

Re: How can you find the value of?

A quick skim of ebay says start at 30 might do 60-65 on a good day (unless it's some special edition for which I haven't allowed).

Thank you PNP - I think it does have potential to be OK - relative to cost at least! Just need to keep up momentum and interest.

Re: RICKS ZENFOLIO WEBSITE UPDATES

Excellent photos - the curved arch bridge makes a wonderful frame. B&W seems to suit some shots more than others - being entirely unartistic I have no idea why! Thank you.

AND it moves! Slowly!!

Having only ever had the Hornby Pug in >20 years ago version I'd assumed a poor slow runner - but this one is very good.

Re: Tilley Yard South, Chicago, Winter 1956

Unusually, maxing the wiring image on photobucket simply makes it look BETTER!

It remains my most envied layout on here - near enough perfect.

Should wow 'em at next Exhibition.

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

"....the delivery van...." But, but.....that's the only bit I didn't build!!

The (Ibertren) diesel runs nicely - 25 quid from a private seller on ebay seemed fair - a week earlier one went for NINETY FIVE £s from a trader.
